Janice was a member of the Mount Olivet Church, a homemaker and seamstress who enjoyed cooking and sewing. She will always be remembered as a loving mother, grandmother, wife and sister. She was preceded in death by one brother, Maynard Ray Buckland. Those left to cherish her memory include her husband of 66 years, James E. Reed; one daughter, Linda Hampton and husband Randy of Athens; three sons, Gary Reed of Pipestem, Danny Reed of Denver, CO, David Reed and wife Jessica of Aurora, CO; seven grandchildren, Rance Hampton, Dustin Hampton, Jason Reed, Jodie Reed, Ian Buscemi, Shelton Reed, Austin Reed; five great grandchildren; three sisters, Betty Buckland of Hinton, Carole McCormick of Hinton and Barbara Hedrick and husband Norvin of St. Albans. Funeral services will be at 11:00 A.M. Thursday, August 16, 2012 at the Ronald Meadows Funeral Parlors Chapel with Pastor Norvin Hedrick officiating. Peggy was employed by Maidenform, Inc. of Princeton during her working years. She spent time with her daughter and grandson following her retirement from Maidenform. She is survived by her sisters, Ms. Louise Houston-Fisher of Charleston; Ms. Jerry Ann Laufer and Nancy Martz and companion Shelby Kitts all of Princeton; Special niece, Gail Marino and several other nieces and nephews. He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Nancy Woodrum of Gainesville; daughter, Laurie (Jim) Campbell of Smyrna, Ga; son, Bill (Trish) Woodrum of Watkinsville, Ga., and Ken (Rachel) Woodrum of Flowery Branch, Ga; grandchildren, Andrew, Alicia, Ashley, Darlen and Calla Woodrum; great-granddaughter, Alexia Plant; sister, Dorothy Jean Johnson of Crestview, Fla; sister-in-law, Yukie Woodrum of Newport News, Va; nieces; nephews; other relatives; loving friends; and those who knew him simply as “Grandpa.” He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Brian K; brother, John K; sister, Maxine McClung; and brother-in-law, Dick McClung. Service: 11 a.m. Monday at Little-Davenport Funeral Home, 355 Dawsonville Highway, Gainesville. Pastor Loren Hildebrant will officiate. He was born in Beckley, W.Va., and had been a Peninsula resident since 1968. Mr. Woodrum was a veteran of the Korean War and retired from the U.S. Army as a Sergeant First Class in 1969 after 20 years of service. Following his military service, he later went on to retire in 1989 from the plant protection department at Newport News Shipbuilding. He earned his BA degree in Criminology from St. Leo College and was a member of the Oak Hill Masonic Lodge in Oak Hill, W.Va. He was also an avid fisherman and will be fondly remembered by his family and many friends for his great sense of humor and his special love for his grandchildren. Mr. Woodrum was preceded in death by his sister, Maxine McClung. He is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Yukie Tosaki Woodrum; a son, Michael K. Woodrum and his wife, Stephanie, of Newport News; two daughters, Kathy Rhodes Williams and her husband, Robert, of Newport News and Peggy Woodrum Paulini and her husband, Steve, of Richmond; a brother, Dale Woodrum and his wife, Nancy, of Gainesville, Ga; a sister, Dorothy Johnson of Florida; five grandchildren, Mark R. Pirhala Jr. and his wife, Mariah, Victoria and Kasey Herb, Ashley K. Woodrum and Alex Paulini; and great-granddaughter, Emma Pirhala. He is also survived by his faithful canine companion, 'Gidget.' The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Monday, June 5, at Weymouth Funeral Home. A Celebration of Mr. Woodrum's life will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, June 6, at the funeral home chapel by lifelong friend, the Rev. Benjamin T. Franklin. Interment with full military honors will be in Peninsula Memorial Park. on June 3, 2006.5

Woodrum and Mae Frances Rhodes, circa 1952.1,3 Yukie Tosaki died on July 3, 2013 at Newport News, Virginia, at age 86.2 She Yukie Tosaki Woodrum, 86, passed away peacefully on July 3, 2013, surrounded by her family. Yukie was born and raised in Tokyo, Japan and came to the U.S. in 1952. In Japan, she attended dress making school becoming a talented seamstress. Every piece of clothing worn by her daughters' and her daughters' barbies were hand sewn by Yukie. An excellent cook, she could fry chicken southern style or whip up a classic Japanese meal. Yukie had a great sense of adventure and an independent spirit and will forever be admired for her courage, strong will and wonderful sense of humor. Yukie was preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, John Keith Woodrum. She is survived by her daughters, Peggy Woodrum Paulini & her husband Steve of Richmond, Katherine Woodrum Williams of Newport News; her son Michael Keith Woodrum & his wife Stephanie of Hampton; 5 grand-children, Mark Pirhala & his wife Myriah, Victoria Herb Edwards & her husband Ryan, Kasey Herb, Ashley Woodrum and Alex Paulini & 1 great grand-child, Emma Pirhala. She is also survived by Joanna Amato, friend, companion and compassionate caregiver. The family will receive friends at Weymouth Funeral Home on Tuesday July 9, from 7 - 8:30 pm. There will be a private family service and burial at a later date. on July 7, 2013.3
