He was born January 11, 1940, in Charleston. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ralph and Virginia Coleman Griffith; and grandparents, John and Beatrice Coleman and Claude and Ollie Griffith. Frank was a Christian and a member of Marmet First Baptist Church, was a 1957 graduate of Charleston High School, a cadet at VPI, a graduate of WV Institute of Technology in Montgomery, and did graduate studies at George Washington University. He had worked at numerous nuclear facilities and later formed his own consulting firm. Surviving are sister, Rosalie Hastings and her husband Paul of Marmet; nieces, Mary Browning (Jamie) and Leslie Nichols (Nick) of Marmet; nephew, David Hastings of Liberty; five great-nephews, Eddie Cocharan, Josh Cochran, Michael Hastings, and Christian and Jordan Nichols; two great-nieces, Whitney Cochran and Lydia Hastings; great-great-nephew, J.R. Cochran; and three great-great-nieces, Autumn Cochran, Baylee Griffith, and Aubrey Cochran; aunts, Bea Clark of South Charleston, Dilys and Eugene Coleman of North Carolina, and Kay Coleman of Laporte, Texas; cousins, Charles Fout of Charlton Heights, Kathy Coleman of LaPorte, Texas, Tommy Coleman of Florida, Donna Zirkle of South Charleston, Doug Clark of North Carolina, Gary Coleman of North Carolina, Kelly and Craig Coleman. Frank is survived by several cousins who have been lifelong friends, Terry and Jane Fontalbert, and Margaret "Sis" Fontalbert; friend, Harry Markham; and numerous other cousins and friends. The funeral will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, March 10, 2009, at Leonard Johnson Funeral Home, Marmet, with Pastor Rick Watson officiating. Burial will follow in Marmet Cemetery. on March 8, 2009.3
