He was the devoted husband of the late Caroline (nee Libby), loving father of Brian M., Barry S., Mark L. Shawkey, Nancy S. Cheplowitz and the late Billy R., Jr., dear brother of Charles and Daniel Shawkey, and the late Richard, Winston and David Shawkey. He was also the proud grandfather of Jessica and Matthew Whitaker, Christian, Grant and Garrett, Billy III and Stephan Shawkey and Michael and Christopher Stillman, great grandfather of Alexander, Kailey and Andrew Stillman and Lexi Whitaker-Loving. Billy was proud to serve our country in the US Army and a member of the Teamsters #557 as a truck driver; 27 years at Redstar Truckline and 25 years at Redline Trucking. He was also a member of The American Legion Post #276. He enjoyed fishing, crabbing, boating and playing cards. He liked spending time with friends, playing pool and shuffleboard. He was a devoted Ravens and Orioles fan. The family received friends on Monday, January 7 at Fink Funeral Home, 426 Crain Hwy S at 5th Ave, where services will be held at 1:00 PM on Wednesday. on January 9, 2013.⁵

     Daniel Herman Shawkey was buried at Barrancas National Cemetery, Naval Air Station, 80 Hovey Road, Pensacola, Escambia Co., Florida.⁶ He was born on March 21, 1939 at Ingram Branch, Fayette Co., West Virginia.^3,4 He married Helen Unknown circa 1986.⁴ Daniel Herman Shawkey died on October 1, 2016 at Florida at age 77.⁴ He Daniel Herman "Dan" Shawkey, age 77, of Pace, FL, passed away Saturday, October 1, 2016. He was born March 21, 1939 in Oak Hill, WV to the later Herman Shawkey and Sylvia Farley Shawkey. Dan was a veteran of the United States Marine Corp. He retired from Merit Concrete in Maryland. He was a gentle and kind man. Survivors include his beloved wife of 30 years, Helen D. Shawkey; his sons, Daniel Allen (Elizabeth) Shawkey of Mt. Pleasant, SC; Michael Aaron Shawkey of Rockland, MA and Robert Anthony (Natalie) Shawkey of The Colony, TX; 3 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren; his brother, Charles (Sharon) Shawkey; and his sister-in-law, Lynda Shawkey, all of Jarrottsville, MD. Memorial services will be Wednesday, October 5, 2016 at 11 AM at Northridge Church in Pensacola, FL. National Cremation & Burial Society of Milton has been entrusted with the arrangements. on October 4, 2016.⁴

     Howell Winston Shawkey was born on March 28, 1943 at Ingram Branch, Fayette Co., West Virginia.^3,6,4 He died on August 3, 2010 at Palisade, Aitkin Co., Minnesota, at age 67.^6,4,5 He Howell "Winston" Shawkey, 67, Palisade, died Aug. 3, 2010, at his home. Winston was born March 28, 1943, at Beckley, W. Va., the son of Herman and Sylvia (Farley) Shawkey. He grew up and attended schools in the Baltimore, Md., area. He came to the Palisade/McGregor area in 1994 and worked for the Savanna Golf course for 12 years. He enjoyed golfing, fishing and snowmobiling. He is survived by his step daughter, Kim Fouty, HaverDeGrace, Md; grandchildren, Ashley and Amber; brothers, Charles Shawkey, Jarrettsville, Md; Daniel Shawkey, Pensacola, Fla; and Billy Shawkey, Glen Burnie, Md. He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers, David and Richard. A memorial service will be held Sun., Aug. 8, at 3 p.m. at the Big Sand Bar. on August 5, 2010.⁵
