Floyd was born July 21, 1925 in Springfield, Missouri to Robert and Bertha (Dameron) Salkil. He served in the US Navy during WWII and was overseas for four years serving on the U.S.S. Hunter Liggett and the U.S.S. Hayes. He retired from Sweetheart Cup Company. Floyd loved animals and sports, he enjoyed playing and watching football, baseball, golf and bowling. He was preceded in death by his grandson, Craig and his granddaughter, Michelle. He is survived by his wife, Doris of the home; his two daughters, Linda Hines of Brookline, and Patti Wilson and her husband Jeff of Springfield; four grandchildren: Yvette, Mark, Samantha, Chris and their spouses; eight great grandchildren and a nephew, Gary Karnaghon and family of Memphis, Tenn. A memorial service will be at 6:00 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 9, 2008 in Herman H. Lohmeyer Funeral Home 500 E. Walnut Street. No visitation is planned.3 He was born on July 21, 1925 at Springfield, Greene Co., Missouri.8,3 He married Doris L. Rainwater on March 26, 1949 at Boone Co., Arkansas.9,2 Floyd O. Surviving are his wife, Florence, Nixa; two sons, James, of Nixa and Richy, of Clever; two daughters, Mrs. Joyce Keithley and Mrs. Janet Keithley, both of Clever; his mother, Mrs. Neal Salkil, Boil D'Arc; two step-sons, Carl Wilson, Springfield, and Jerry Wllson, of the state of Pennsylvania; a step-daughter, Miss Nancy Wilson, Lincoln, Mo; four brothers, Allen, of Springfield, Henry, or Nixa, Eldon, of Davenport, Iowa, and Finis, of Glasgow; four siaters, Mrs. Mae Taylor, Springfield, Mrs. Linnia Hancock, Bois D'Arc, Mrs. Evelyn Jones, Miller, and Mrs. Hester Mantle, Raytown, five grandchildren and three step-grandchildren. on June 11, 1977.5

He spent most of his life as a dairy milker. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather and will be missed by all. He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters and three brothers. Henry is survived by his wife Henrietta Salkil of the home, two daughters Barbara Cook of Mansfield, MO, and Joyce Fattig of Springfield, MO, two sons, Steven Salkil of Seymour, Mo and Daniel Salkil of St. Louis, MO, two sister; Linna Hancock and Hester Mantle one brother Finis Salkil, nine grandchildren and nine great grandchildren. Visitation will be held Tuesday August 11, 2009 from 6:00 - 8:00 Pm in the Walnut Lawn Funeral Home Chapel. Funeral service will be Wednesday August 12, 2009 at 10:00 AM in the Chapel. burial will follow at Hopedale Cemetery in Ozark, MO. on August 10, 2009.4

He passed away three days later in a California hospital. Survivors include his wife, May; three daughters, Ethel, Patsy and Sharon Kay, all of the home in Punta; one brother, Clyde, of Aurora; three sisters, Mrs. Hurbert Green of Pierce City, Mrs. Hobert Andrews of Crane, Mrs. Eddie Ebert of Billings; two half brothers, Junior of Logan, and Charles of Clever, and his father, John of Clever. The body was brought to Billings for burial. Funeral services were held Aug. 15, at Delaware Church with Rev. Lynn Swadley of Springfield officiating. Burial was made in the church cemetery under the direction of the Wilburn Maples Funeral Home of Clever.5
