He was born July 7, 1936 in Wilkes County to Lawrence Simpson and Elmina Dunn Wolfe. Mr. Wolfe was a member of Greater Vision Baptist Church and retired from NC DOT after 25 years of service. He was preceded in death by his father; his mother, Elmina Dunn Wolfe Church; his wife, Hattie Jane Anderson Wolfe; and a sister, Lucille McNeil. Surviving are his daughter, Patricia Ellen Hayworth and husband Wayde of West Jefferson; sister, Gail Williams of Wilkesboro; brother, Carl Wolfe and wife Mary Ellen of Stony Fork; two grandchildren; two great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Graveside service will be held 2:00 o’clock Wednesday, August 27, 2014 at Greater Vision Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Lynn Lambert and Rev. Sherrill Wellborn officiating.
