     Lula Gaynell Staley Mrs. Lula Gaynell Staley Johnson, age 89 of Millers Creek, passed away July 8th, at her home. Funeral services will be held 3:00 PM Sunday, July 12, 2015 at Reins Sturdivant Chapel with Rev. Lawson Horton officiating. Burial will be in the Lewis Fork Baptist Church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM Saturday at Reins-Sturdivant Funeral Home. Mrs. Johnson was born February 26, 1926 in Wilkes County to William and Neely Byrd Staley. She was a Volunteer with the Appalachian Foster Grandparent program and worked at the Wilkes Development Day School after retiring from Buster Brown. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of fifty seven years; James Albert Johnson, one daughter; Joann Johnson Harris and one son; Grady E. Johnson, Jr. and one great granddaughter; Jackie Riggs Bunn. She is survived by six children; James Eric Johnson of the home, Rev. Jay Johnson and wife Joyce of Millers Creek, Betty Johnson Burgess and Bobby Younce of Millers Creek, Rebecca Johnson Moore and husband R.L. of Millers Creek, William Pinkney Johnson and wife Gaynell of Hayes, Monica Johnson Woodie and husband Todd of Millers Creek, Grandchildren; Amanda Roberts and husband David, Shelia B. Howell, Lisa Johnson, Shannon Minton and husband Ricky, Melissa Combs and husband Chris, Grady Johnson, Wayne Harris and Michael Church, Great Grandchildren; Kimmie Swaim, Tyler Felts, Ty & Taylor Roberts, Rylee Howell, Casey Minton, Travis Dale and Nolan Combs, one sister; Mary Rose Kilby and two brothers; Alan Staley and Bob Staley.
