     Romulus Linney “Rom” Teague Jr. Taylorsville, N.C. - Romulus "Rom" Linney Teague Jr., 81, of Northwood Circle in Taylorsville, passed away Sunday, Dec. 14, 2008, at Catawba Valley Medical Center with his daughter and daughter-in-law at his side. He was born in Wilkes County on Nov. 1, 1927, the son of the late Romulus Linney Teague Sr. and Veva Foster Teague. He was a graduate of Lenoir-Rhyne College and retired from General Electric as a project leader. He served as a first lieutenant in the U. S. Air Force during the Korean conflict. Rom was a member of Taylorsville Presbyterian Church, where he had served as a Sunday school teacher and an elder. He was a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 5466. Survivors include his wife of 51 years, Nancy Teague of the home; a son, Romulus Linney Teague III and wife, Kimberly, of Hickory; a daughter, Nancy Leanne Deal and husband, Dean, of Taylorsville; a sister, Joy Teague Matlock of Taylorsville; and five grandchildren, Stephanie Deal, Christine Deal, Romulus Linney Teague IV, Atalie Teague and Derek Deal. He also is survived by his beloved granddogs, Ace and Bella. Wife: Nancy McKinney Teague. He will be placed beside his grandparents, George and Mattie Teague, and his parents, Rom and Veva Teague. Burial, with military rites by members of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 5466 and V.F.W.      Joy Teague Mrs. Joy Teague Matlock, 86, of Liledoun Road, Taylorsville, passed away Sunday, September 20, 2015 at her residence. Mrs. Matlock was born February 19, 1929 in Wilkes County to the late Rom Teague, Sr. and Veva Foster Teague. She was a homemaker and was a member of First Baptist Church, where she was a Sunday School teacher for many years. She was a member of Hospital Auxiliary, Taylorsville Book Club and Red Bud Garden Club. Including her parents, she was preceded in death by: her husband, Thomas L. Matlock, Jr. and a brother, Rom Teague, Jr. Those left to cherish her memory include: a daughter, Dinah Matlock of Myrtle Beach, SC; two sons, Thomas Long “Rusty” Matlock III of Taylorsville, Eddie Matlock and wife, Penny, of the Bethlehem Community; two grandchildren, Bailey Matlock and Parker Matlock. The funeral service will be 2 p.m., Wednesday, September 23, 2015 at First Baptist Church. Revs. Roger Underwood and Dan Redding will officiate. The body will lie in state 30 minutes prior to the service. Burial will follow in the Hiddenite Cemetery. The family will receive friends 6-8 p.m., Tuesday, September 22, 2015 at Adams Funeral Home.
