He spent many years in construction as an Iron Worker. Howard enjoyed spending time with his family and the great outdoors. He was an avid hunter and fisherman. He is preceded in death by his parents, one brother, and two sisters. He is survived by three sons; Jacob Charles Johnson, Howard Eugene Johnson, Jimmy Edward Johnson all of Brownwood, TX., three daughters; Barbara Sue Wright of Crawford, TX, Jo Ann Wynona Alva of Brownwood, TX, Samantha Jane Johnson of Lenoir City, TN, one sister; Beverly Sue Bolin of Troy, MO. Surviving are his wife, Norma; daughter, Diana Townsley of Chanute, Kan; brother, Dale of Newberg; sisters, Shirley Taylor and Bobbie Yeary, both of Newberg, Marie Reynolds of Albany, Marion Cifford of Boulder, Colo, Dorothy Waltermire and Betty Marman, both of Chanute, Kan., and Sharon Farmer of Fort Riley, Kan; three grandchildren; and two great-grandchild. on October 20, 1994.⁶
