Burial with the family and friends will be on Thursday at 11 a.m. at The Central Texas State Veterans Cemetery. Howard was born on August 27, 1938 to Howard Jacob Johnson and Barbara Elizabeth Conner Johnson in Dewey, Oklahoma. He served his country in the United States Army where he served 3 tours in Vietnam and was honorably discharged. He was a lifetime member of the VFW 8828. He spent many years in construction as an Iron Worker. Howard enjoyed spending time with his family and the great outdoors. He was an avid hunter and fisherman. He is preceded in death by his parents, one brother, and two sisters. He is survived by three sons; Jacob Charles Johnson, Howard Eugene Johnson, Jimmy Edward Johnson all of Brownwood, TX., three daughters; Barbara Sue Wright of Crawford, TX, Jo Ann Wynona Alva of Brownwood, TX, Samantha Jane Johnson of Lenoir City, TN, one sister; Beverly Sue Bolin of Troy, MO. Fourteen grandchildren and twenty one great-grandchildren.2 He was buried at Central Texas State Veterans Cemetery, 11463 State Highway 195, Killeen, Bell Co., Texas.2,7 He was born on August 27, 1938 at Dewey, Washington Co., Oklahoma.1,7,2 He married Thelma Gene Pierson on August 27, 1960 at Dewey, Washington Co., Oklahoma.1 Howard Dwight Johnson died on October 30, 2016 at McLennan Co., Texas, at age 78.2,7
