He was raised north of Buffalo and attended a rural country school. He was inducted into the Army Aug. 21, 1942, serving during World War II. He was honorably discharged Oct. 3, 1945. He returned to Buffalo, where he worked for the town of Buffalo. He married Alberta Mae Mills April 26, 1947, in Ashland, Kan. They moved to Woodward in 1957, where he owned and operated a backhoe business from 1957 until he retired due to ill health. He was a lifetime member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1335, where he held several offices. He also was active with Kids Inc. and helped build baseball fields at Lyons Park. He was a member of Moose Lodge. Surviving are three sons, Steve Snider, Bruce Snider and Kenny Snider, all of Woodward; three sisters, Loretta Ogan of Fresno, Calif., Sybil Vincent of Kansas City, Kan., and Carolyn Madison of Garber; one brother, Don Snider of Woodward; nine grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. In addition to his wife, Alberta, he was preceded in death by five brothers and one sister. on November 3, 2009.3

Alberta Mae (Mills) Snider was born to John Henry and Genevieve Daisy (Smalley) Mills on December 21, 1928 in Protection, Kansas. The family made their home on a farm north of Buffalo, where Alberta was reared. Alberta graduated from Buffalo High School in 1946. She was united in marriage to Kennith L. Snider on April 26, 1947 in Ashland, Kansas and they made their home in Buffalo. Alberta worked at the Oklahoma State Bank in Buffalo. While living in Buffalo, Alberta and Kennith had their first son, Steve, who was born in 1955. In 1957 the family moved to Woodward due to Kennith’s work. Their second son Bruce was born in 1958, and their third son Kenny was born in 1961. Alberta stayed at home to rear her children until 1971 when she went to work for Lane’s Transfer and Storage. Alberta was very active in her children’s lives, coaching several of their sports teams. In 1984 she quit working for Lane’s and began working with her son Steve preparing tax returns and running the office of Snider’s Construction Company. She continued working, eventually retiring due to her health. Alberta had two very special sisters, Dorothy and Margaret, who had taken care of her and Kennith for the past several years. Alberta was on the Kids Inc. Board from 1961 through 1978. Although she did not start Kids Inc., she was instrumental in its success. She served as Precinct Official for the Woodward County Election Board. Alberta was always willing to help someone in need and would volunteer where ever she was needed. She is survived by her husband, Kennith L. Snider of the home; three sons, Steve Snider and wife Teresa; Bruce Snider and wife Kristy; Kenny Snider and friend Liane all of Woodward; nine grandchildren, Leann Carrico and husband Todd of Broken Arrow; Lindsey Snider; Andrew Snider; Christopher Snider all of Woodward; Colby Jeter of Broken Arrow; Miranda Douglas; Jennifer Douglas; Adam Snider; Joshua Douglas all of Woodward; six great grandchildren; three sisters, Dorothy Mills, Marjorie Wall; Margaret Mills all of Wichita, Kansas; two brothers, Bob Mills and wife Ula of Buffalo; John Mills and wife Carol of Boise City; other relatives and friends.She was preceded in death by her parents and one daughter-in-law Beth Snider. Memorials may be made to the Plains Indians and Pioneers Museum with the funeral home accepting the memorials. on February 23, 2009.1

     Loretta Mae Snider Loretta Mae Ogan (August 3, 1922 – September 12, 2015) was born August 3, 1922 in Rosston, Oklahoma to Hurley Francis and Miriam Snider. She was the second of eleven children and one of four Snider girls. Mrs. Ogan fulfilled her Lord’s plan after being capably and lovingly cared for by the management and staff of the My Care Home of Fresno, California. She was a dearly loved sister, mother, mother-in-law, grandmother, great grandmother, and a great-great grandmother. Widowed in 2012, Loretta served faithfully beside her husband of 72 years, Dr. Dexter Ogan through World War Two, college and seminary, and as an invaluable part of their full-time ministry to Southern Baptist churches from Texas to California until their retirement in 1988. Somewhat quiet and reserved, Mrs. Ogan’s love for her family and God's people was only surpassed by her devotion to Jesus Christ. Loretta is preceded in death by her much beloved husband, Dexter; a sister Velma and four brothers Kenneth, Bill, Chet, and Charlie; and a granddaughter, Denise Waite. She is survived by her brother, Don Snider of Oklahoma, and sisters Sybil of Kansas and her baby sister, Carolyn of Enid, Oklahoma. She leaves behind five grateful children; Marietta Waite of Clovis, D.C. Ogan Jr. of Madera, Deborah Ogan of Fresno, Nathan Ogan of Los Banos, and Matthew Ogan of Lompoc. Mrs. Ogan is also survived by 27 grandchildren, 38 great grand children (2 on the way), and 7 great-great grand children. Loretta and Dexter were proud of their family and confident in their faith.1 She was buried at Clovis Cemetery, Clovis, Fresno Co., California.7 She was born on August 3, 1922 at Rosston, Harper Co., Oklahoma.1,7 As of circa 1940,her married name was Ogan.8 She married Dr. Dexter Carl Ogan circa 1940.1,8 Loretta Mae Snider died on September 12, 2015 at Fresno, Fresno Co., California, at age 93.1

     Dr. Dexter Carl Ogan was buried at Clovis Cemetery, Clovis, Fresno Co., California.1 He Dr. Dexter Carl Ogan was born on February 16, 1923, in Tyrone, Oklahoma to Lester and Elizabeth Ogan and passed away on Thursday, December 13, 2012, in Fresno, California with his wife Loretta at his side. Dr. Ogan was a beloved son, brother, father, grandfather, great grandfather, and great-great grandfather. He served his country in the South Pacific during World War II earning his honorable discharge in 1946. He served his Savior as the pastor of Southern Baptist churches from Texas to California until his retirement in 1988. He was educated in Southern Baptist schools including an A.A. from Wayland Baptist University in Plainview, Texas; a B.A. from Oklahoma Baptist University in Shawnee, Oklahoma; a B.D. and Th.D. from Golden Gate Baptist Theological Seminary at Berkeley, California. He served the Southern Baptist denomination through various local associations he pastored in, as well as served on boards and committees for the California Southern Baptist Convention and the Southern Baptist Convention. He was a published author and noted mentor to many young Southern Baptist pastors. His love for God's people was only surpassed by his love for the Savior Jesus Christ. He loved his children, grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren. Dr. Ogan was married to Loretta Mae Snider for 72 years and reluctantly leaves her behind to be rejoined later in heaven. He is preceded in death by his parents, Lester and Elizabeth; siblings, Frank, Sam and Esther; and a granddaughter, Denise Waite. He is survived by a brother, George of Oklahoma; and a sister, Norma Eden of Texas. Dr. Ogan leaves behind five children, Marietta Waite of Clovis, D. C.
