He was a Mason, and was buried Tuesday, by the order. on September 8, 1887.²

West, Jr. of Hurricane, W.Va. and Victor M. West of Virginia Beach; one sister, Mrs. Grace Cole of Grove City, Ohio; nine-grandchildren.      Otis David Amos married Margaret Ann West, daughter of Charles McCafferty "Charlie" West Sr. and Hester Brier Collins.² Otis David Amos was born on January 12, 1931 at Bassett, Virginia.¹ He died on December 13, 2015 at Virginia Beach, Virginia, at age 84.¹ He Virginia Beach - Otis David "Dave" Amos, 84, passed away on Dec. 13, 2015. Dave was born in Basset, VA on Jan. 12, 1931 to the late Elizabeth Oaks Amos & Thomas E. Amos. Dave graduated from Basset High School. He retired from Ford Motor Co. & enjoyed gardening & fishing. He was also a proud leader of Boy Scout Troop 544 in Mechanicsville, VA. Dave is survived by wife, Margaret; daughter, Debb; sons, Ronnie, Robert & Tim; brothers, Edward & Hubert and sisters, Evelyn, Frances and Madeline. He was predeceased by brothers, Buford, John, Frank, Charlie, Wilbert and sister, Ruby. on December 17, 2015.¹

West Jr., 80, of Hurricane, died Sept. 12, 2006, in Thomas Memorial Hospital after a short illness. Charles was active with the Humane Society, Former President of Hurricane Babe Ruth League, and Hurricane Band Boosters. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II. Surviving are wife, Nellie; daughters, Susan LeRose and husband, Michael, of Horse Heads, N.Y., Shonda Skaggs and husband, Kim, of Hurricane; sons, Charles M. West III of Hurricane, Brian West of Hurricane; 11 grandchildren; brother, Victor West of Virginia Beach, Va; and sister, Margaret Amos of Virginia Beach, Va.      Charles McCafferty "Chuck" West III was buried at Cunningham Memorial Park, St. Albans, Kanawha Co., West Virginia.^2,3 He Charles “Chuck” McCafferty West III 59 of Hurricane passed away Thursday, December 7, 2017 at his home after a brief illness. Graduated Hurricane High School class of 1976, Attended Marshall University where he was a member of TKE, Former Member of Apache MC, former security guard at Mati Gras Resort and employed by Kroger’s for more than 37 years. He is survived by his mother Nellie West, and Sister Shonda (Kim) Skaggs, Brother Brian West all of Hurricane, Sister Susan (Mike) LeRose of New York, several nieces and nephews. Burial will follow in Cunningham Memorial Park.³ He was born on August 31, 1958.² He died on December 7, 2017 at Hurricane, Putnam Co., West Virginia, at age 59.^2,3

     Victor Maurice West was born on February 2, 1934 at West Virginia.^5,7 He married Barbara Ann Day on December 31, 1953 at Chester Co., South Carolina.^4,8,7 Victor Maurice West died on December 25, 2023 at Virginia at age 89.⁷ He Victor M. West went to be with the Lord, Monday, December 25, 2023 at the age of 89. Born in Roanoke, VA on February 2, 1934, he was the son of the late Charles M. West, Sr. and Hester Collins West. Vic graduated from Fincastle High School prior to joining the workforce where he served 31 years at Lonestar Industries. Vic married the love of his life after running away together on New Year's Eve in 1953. Victor and Barbara would have celebrated their 70th wedding anniversary this year. Victor was ordained as a Deacon on October 8, 1967 at First Baptist Church in Gardendale, Alabama where he worked with youth in R.A.'s and Jr. Achievement. Vic was a man with a servant's heart who loved his family and genuinely cared for others. Vic was a fan of Nascar, especially Dale Earnhardt. He loved the Washington Redskins, fishing, and watching the Blue Angels fly. Victor enjoyed spending time in Florida, golfing, and taking care of his cherished El Caminos. Most of all, Vic enjoyed spending time with his family. He was wholeheartedly devoted to his grandchildren, having never told them "no" their entire life, and his great granddaughter Hadley, who brought him so much joy and always a smile to his face. Victor was predeceased by his wife of 69 years, Barbara Ann West (Day), son Kevin West, brother Charles M. West, Jr. (Nellie), and sister Margaret West Amos (Dave). Victor is survived by his daughters, Vickie West Rice (Charles), Patricia Lee West; grandchildren C. Andrew Rice, Victoria Rice Eisenberg (Chase), and great granddaughter Hadley Ann Eisenberg. on December 31, 2023.⁷

Cody, 63, died at his home at 316 Summers Street, at 11:45 o'clock Saturday morning following an illness of three months. He had been in declining health for the past year. Born in Monroe County, he had spent the greater part of his life in Monroe and Summers counties, and was employed for 30 years in the maintenance-of-way department of the Chesapeake and Ohio Railway. The body will be removed from the Ronald Meadows Funeral Home to the home of a stepdaughter, Eva Iddings, at Mane, this afternoon and funeral services will be conducted at the New Hope Church at 2 o'clock Monday by the Rev. C. H. Martin, the Rev. Harry R. Peyton, and the Rev. B. F. Wright. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Daisy Iddings Cody, of Hinton; eight step-children: Roy Iddings, of Montgomery, Charles, Howard and Rose Iddings, of Hinton, Jesse Iddings, of Beckley, Archie and Roscoe Iddings, of Richmond, Va., and Eva Iddings, of Marie; three brothers: Howard, M. H. and J. Earl Cody, all of Marie, and one sister, Mrs. B. S. Butler, of Portsmouth. on March 13, 1949.¹
