Raby was born on June 30, 1951 at Tennessee.5 He died on December 26, 2016 at Knoxville, Knox Co., Tennessee, at age 65.3 He Donald E. Raby, of Knoxville, local historian, passed away from this world unto Heaven on Monday, December 26, 2016, after a courageous battle with cancer. Don was 65 years old and had lived a full life that included travel while in the Navy aboard the USS Wainwright. He graduated from the University of Tennessee and the School of Preaching and Ministries in Karns. Don retired from the United States Postal Service after 30 years of service. He was thought of as a "true friend" by all who knew him and was a loyal and steadfast companion to his wife, Nancy. He honored and cared for his parents, Sarah and Earl Raby and he loved his two elder brothers, Terry, now deceased, and Fred Raby, of Florida, and their families. Don loved to study family history, especially in the area of Scarboro and Oak Ridge, TN. He loved to hike and visit with his friends Fred Cannon, Tommy Bruce, Ray Smith, Jim Tumblin and Gordon Davis. More recently he became interested in woodcrafts and old cars. He will be deeply missed. Following the service, family and friends will travel in procession to the family cemetery in the New Hope Community of Oak Ridge, where Mr. Raby will be laid to rest with full military honors conducted by Roane County Honor Guard and the Naval Reserve. on December 29, 2016.3

     Joseph Metcalf Reed was buried at Osage Cemetery, Osage, Mitchell Co., Iowa.4 His Social Security Number was 482-20-6011.5 He Funeral services were held last Thursday afternoon at the Champion Funeral Home in Osage, for Joseph Reed, 92, resident of Mitchell county for 84 years, who died March 15. Mr. Reed had been a resident at the Osage nursing home for several months, and died there. The Rev. Norman Brooks, pastor of the Congregational church in Osage, was in charge of the services. Burial was in the Osage Cemetery. Joseph Metcalf Reed was born Aug. 17, 1873 at Pleasantville, the son of J. M. and Mary Metcalf Reed. He was married to Dollie Duncan Greenway. The family moved to Mitchell county in 1902. During the past 23 years Mr. Reed had made his home at the Cleveland hotel. He was a member of the Christian church. Preceding him in death were his wife, Dollie, two sons, Orlie and Grant who died of a heart attack last Dec. 18. Surviving are one son, Aubrey Reed of Knoxville, two sisters, Mrs. Hattie Hughs and Mrs. Fannie Kamp of Pleasantville; nine grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; 11 great-great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.4 He was born on August 17, 1873 at Pleasantville, Marion Co., Iowa.2,3,4,5 He married Dollie Duncan Greenway on March 25, 1894 at Marion Co., Iowa.6,4 Joseph Metcalf Reed died on March 15, 1966 at Osage, Mitchell Co., Iowa, at age 92.4

Reed, 71, of 1317 E. Eighteenth St., who died of a cerebral hemorrhage Wednesday at his home, will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at the Hamilton Funeral Home. Burial will be in the Laurel Hill Cemetery. Born at Pleasantville, Mr. Reed came from Swan to Des Moines in 1919 and was a stationary engineer for the city of Des Moines until his retirement in 1952. Surviving are his widow Flossie; five sons, Paul, Charles, Keith, Doran and Gerald, all of Des Moines; two sisters, Mrs. Fan Camp of Pleasantville and Mrs. Hattie Hughes of Prairie City; a brother, Joe, of Osage; 12 grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren. on July 27, 1956.5
