     Donald Lee Mullins Donald Lee Mullins, age 90, of Roanoke, Virginia, stepped into eternity on Thursday, November 25, 2021. He was born April 16, 1931 in Beartown, West Virginia and moved to Roanoke when he was 19. Donald served in France while in the United States Army. He retired as an engineer from Norfolk Southern after many years of service. Later on, following his retirement from the railroad, Donald had more time to devote to his love for wood working and making furniture. Also, for 48 years, he owned and operated Paradise Acres Mobile Home Park in Franklin County, which he started in 1973. Donald also attended Garden City Bible Fellowship Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents, many siblings and a son-in-law, Bernie Stevenson. Donald is survived by his wife of 69 years, Ruth Mullins; Four daughters, Karen Brysiak (Walt), Renee’ Holdren (Calvin), Sherry Stevenson, and Myra Sorrells (David). Five grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren and one great great granddaughter. Also, many other loving relatives from the Mullins and the Campbell Families. Burial will follow in Sherwood Memorial Park.3 He was buried at Sherwood Burial Park, 1045 Lynchburg Turnpike, Salem, Roanoke Co., Virginia.4,3 He was born on April 16, 1931 at Beartown, Mercer Co., West Virginia.4,3 He married Edna Elizabeth Lawson, daughter of James R. In 1997 he was assigned to Columbus AFB, MS, as a T-37 flight instructor pilot. Major Nichols transitioned to the Air Force Reserves in 2001. He was a highly respected simulator and flight instructor pilot in the T-38 with over 3,200 flying hours. He touched the lives of thousands of Air Force pilot training students.
