     Moses Lafayette Roberson was buried at Memorial Gardens Cemetery, Wellington, Collingsworth Co., Texas.1 He was born on May 21, 1879 at Short Hollar, Putnam Co., Tennessee.1,2,3,4,5 He married Luemma Josephine "Lou" Poff, daughter of James Millard Poff and Tennessee Roxanna Donnell, circa 1902.1,2 Moses Lafayette Roberson died on December 19, 1945 at Wellington, Collingsworth Co., Texas, at age 66.1,2,3 He M. L. Roberson, 66-year-old retired farmer, died here Wednesday morning, December 19, at 10:30 o'clock following an illness of approximately five months. He had lived in Texas since boyhood and in Collingsworth County for 38 years. Mr. Roberson farmed in the Fresno community for a number of years, then moved to the Midway community. he made that his home until about two months ago, when he retired from active farming and moved to Wellington. Born in Tennessee on May 21, 1879 Moses Lafayette Roberson lived there until he was 12 years of age, when he came with his parents to Grayson County, Texas. He grew to manhood in that area, and was married there to Miss Lou Poff about 43 years ago. In 1907, Mr. Roberson moved his family from Whitewright to Collingsworth County. His entire interest lay in farming, but he was a loyal and sincere neighbor and friend. Those about him valued him for his quiet modesty and his industry. He was a member of the Methodist Church. Mr. Roberson is survived by his widow, Mrs. Lou Roberson of Wellington; three sons and four daughters: Otis Roberson, Lloyd Roberson, Mrs. Loyd Langford, Mrs. R. W. Mitchell and Mrs. Ervin Kersten of Wellington; Mrs. R. M. Riddle of Quanah; and Weldon Roberson of Oklahoma City. on December 24, 1945.2

The couple established Otis Grill in 1943 on the west side of the square, and for the next 25 years had area-wide recognition for the home-cooked style food they served. Roberson is remembered also for the number of high school students and young adults to whom he gave their first jobs over that period of time. William Otis Roberson was born at Whitesboro January 5, 1903 the son of M.L. and Lou Poff Roberson. The family came to Wellington in 1907. He was married to Vera Hall December 16, 1928. Roberson was a member of First Baptist Church. Survivors are his wife, Mrs. Vera Roberson; of Thomas Nursing Center; two daughters, Mrs. Marjorie Brown and Mrs. Patsy Graves of Amarillo; one brother, Loyd Roberson of Amarillo; and three sisters, Mrs. Ruby Riddle of Quanah, Mrs. Opal Langford of Memphis and Mrs. Lois Mitchell of Amarillo. There are 7 grandchildren: Linda Graves, Stacy Graves, Glenn Maddox, Steven Maddox, Robin Maddox, Walter Graves and Stan Brown. Four greatgrandchildren also survive. on August 14, 1980.6

She grew up in Wellington and graduated from Wellington High School in 1950. Pat was a proud Wellington Skyrocket. She married Jimmie A. Graves on March 25, 1954. Pat was a switchboard operator for the telephone company. She loved tracing her family’s genealogy and heritage. Family was the most important thing in her life and remembering the family legacy. She was deeply loved and will be greatly missed. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Jim Graves; a son-in-law, Mike Neie; and a sister, Marge Brown. Survivors include a son, Walter Allen “Walt” Graves and wife Sharon of Springtown; two daughters, Linda Kaye Neie of Amarillo and Stacy Ann Bueber and husband Alan of Kearney, Neb; her grandchildren, Lindsay Wright, Ashley Kruse, Michael Graves, Stephanie Sudderth, Roy Whittenburg III and Jim Whittenburg; and six great-grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials be to Alzheimer’s Association, 415 S.W. Eighth Ave., Suite 300, Amarillo, TX 79101. The family will receive guests and friends from 5 to 7 p.m. today at the funeral home. on February 12, 2016.3

Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Deanna Glenn of Springfield; a son, David, of West Linn; three step-daughters, Connie Dumas and Sandy Myers, both of Springfield and Paula Falk of Pleasant Hill; a step-son, Philip Hausman of Poulsbo, WA; a brother, Fred Kersten Jr., Livingston, TX; Three sisters, Hattie Mae Witaker of Houston; Merkie Darby of Springfield and Helen Gilbert of Veneta; 17 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. on May 15, 1997.2

She was born on October 19, 1924 in Hollis, Oklahoma to the late Eben M. Burkhalter and Ruby Riddle. Joveta leaves behind her family to cherish her memories, four children: William M. (Margaret) Stone of Houston, Texas, Nancy Jo Rodgers of Corpus Christi, Lyndon R. (Marina) Stone of Humble, Texas and Suzie (Terry) Moench of Corpus Christi; one sister, Naomi Pape of Munday, Texas; six grandchildren: Stacy Nunn, Michael Stone, Billy Ray Rodgers, Terry Moench, Jr., Danny Stone and Charlie Moench; eleven great-grandchildren. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, March 1, 2011 from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., at Memory Gardens Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, March 2, 2011 at 10:00 a.m., at Memory Gardens Funeral Home Chapel with interment to follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery.1 She was buried at Memory Gardens Cemetery, 8200 Old Brownsville Road, Corpus Christi, Nueces Co., Texas.5 Her married name was Stone.5 She married John C.
