(Buck) Hodge, Sr. and Ernest E. Johnson, Sr. Irene is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Judy and Morris Jarlenski of Roanoke; her sons and daughters-in-law, Robert (Bob) Jr. and Bonnie Hodge, Lynn and Judy Hodge, all of Roanoke, Jimmie Hodge of Eastern Shore, Va; her stepson, Ernest (Eddie) Johnson, Jr. and wife, Becky of Roanoke; her grandchildren, Kathi Richardson and husband, Glenn of Salem, Mark Hodge and wife, Donna of Roanoke, Dena White and husband, Jeff of Vinton, Brian Jarlenski of Roanoke, Kathryn Serviss and husband, B.J. of Sherman Oaks, Calif; Amy Hodge of Atlanta, Ga., April Hodge of Richmond; her great-grandchildren, Melissa, Ben and Sarah White, Kirk and Emily Richardson, Lauren Jarlenski; her sisters, Vivian Martin and husband, Tom of Salem, Jean Hedge and husband, Roger of Montgomery, Ala. Vivian Conner Martin, 93, of Salem, Va., passed away peacefully on Thursday, April 13, 2023. She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas O. Martin; her parents, Ollie and Effie Conner; sisters, Georgia, Irene, Neva, and Jean; and brother, Lee. She retired from Salem Stone Corp. in Salem, Va. She was a very loving and kind wife, mother, and grandmother. She is survived by her son, Steve Martin (Timberly); granddaughter, Brittany (Kyle); great-grandson, Jack; sister, Jean Hedge (Roger); niece and good friends, Helen and Leon McDaniel; along with several nieces and nephews. A graveside service will be held in Sherwood Memorial Park on April 16, 2023.9
