Mary was preceded in death by her husband, William A. Prillaman in 1991. Cannaday died on March 11, 2008 at Virginia at age 73.^6,4 He Russell Cannaday, 73, of Boones Mill, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, March 11, 2008, due to complications with heart surgery. Russell was born June 27, 1934. He was a member of Piedmont Presbyterian Church and was a kind hearted Christian who was loved by all that knew him. Russell was a successful businessman who enjoyed classic cars, bluegrass music and was a great mandolin player. Preceding Russell in death were his parents, Manfred and Bettie Cannaday; and a son, Leon Cannaday. Surviving to cherish his memory are his wife of 51 years, Nelda Cannaday; daughter and son-in-law, Debra and Gene Didlake; their daughter, Amber Didlake; son and daughter-in-law, Dean and Donna Cannaday; granddaughter, Kelly England and her husband, Jason; great-grandchildren, Kaylin Walston and Dylan England; brother and sister-in-law, Daniel and Carol Cannaday; nephews, David Cannaday and Lyn Cannaday; niece, Anita Scott; many relatives and loving friends. Daniel was a loving husband and father who was a guitar player and loved NASCAR. He was preceded in death by his parents, Manford and Betty Cannaday; nephew, Leon Cannaday; and brother, Russell Cannaday; and in-laws, Donald Davis, Dean Davis, Ezra Davis and wife, Walletta; and Debbie Hogan. Surviving are his wife of 64 years, Carol Davis Cannaday; two sons, Richard (David) and Heather Cannaday, Linwood and Janet Cannaday of Vinton; one daughter, Anita and Travis Scott of Burnt Chimney; four grandchildren, Richard (Richie) and Syreeta Cannaday of Pa., Erica Barton of Roanoke, Chris and Chelsea Cannaday of Calif., William Powell and friend, Kasey, of Rocky Mount; six great-grandchildren, Ian, Irene, Judah, Mona, Charlie, Jacie Lyn and Brodie; and good friend, Gwen Cannaday of Roanoke. A native of Wythe County, Va., Mrs. Cannaday was a member of the Portsmouth First Pentecostal Holiness Church. Survivors include her husband, Isaac N. Cannaday; son, Charles J. Cannaday of Chesapeake; brothers, William E. Cooper of Pulaski, Va., and James W. Cooper of Suffolk; three grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. A funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Monday in Portsmouth First Pentecostal Holiness Church by the Rev. Nelson F. Fields. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens.
