On November 3, 2008, Ronald Nelson Kidd, of Goodview, completed his journey here on earth to reunite with his beloved Earl and reside now and forevermore with his Lord Jesus Christ. Left now to cherish his memory is his wife, Barbara Burnette Kidd. He is also survived by his stepdaughter, Elizabeth A. Roberts, of Van Nuys, Calif; brothers and their wives, Kelley Kidd and Barbara, of Floyd, Va., Lawrence Lee Kidd and Darlene, of Lynchburg, Va; sister, Mahala Hailey, of Amelia, Va; a hosts of nieces, nephews, friends and relatives. Ronnie retired from American Electric Power after 35 years; ending a father-son career as linemen for Appalachian Power. The family wishes to sincerely thank the kind and loving care given by Gentle Shepherd Hospice and neighbors and friends who have helped care for and support him and his family during the recent loss of his son and through his illness. Funeral services will be conducted 2 p.m. Friday, November 7, 2008, at Oakeys Vinton Chapel with the Rev. Joey Phillips officiating. Interment will follow in Mt. View Cemetery, Vinton. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday and Thursday, November 5 and 6, 2008, at Oakeys Vinton Chapel, 540-982-2221. on November 6, 2008.1
