     Anna Margaret Lewis Mrs. Anna Margaret Jaynes, age 84, Limestone, passed away Saturday, January 26, 2019 at Durham-Hensley Nursing Home. Mrs. Jaynes was born in Washington County and the daughter of the late Joseph & Anna Holt Lewis. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Paul Thomas Jaynes, Jr. and six brothers and sisters. She was a member of Limestone Fellowship Free Will Baptist Church. Her enjoyment in life was her grandchildren and church. Mrs. Jaynes was a Resident Aide at Green Valley Development Center. Survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law, David & Elizabeth A. Jaynes and Terry & Kim Jaynes, Limestone; five grandchildren, Daniel Jaynes (Nikki), Amy Jaynes, Tara Thompson (Anthony), Rachel Escher (Matt), Logan Jaynes (Kaitlyn); great-grandchildren, Grayson Babb, Brady & Piper Thompson and Tobin Escher; and many nephews and nieces. The family would like to extend a very special thank you to Durham-Hensley Nursing Home and Caris Hospice for their wonderful care. Survivors include her husband: John Leonard Carter; three daughters and two sons-in-law: Marilyn Ann Hodge, Debra and Marvin Carter, and Shirley and Tracey Bales, all of Limestone; eight grandchildren and special grandson-in-law: Christy Hodge, Amy and Brian Brown, Akita Carter, April Carter, Carrie Bales, Evan Bales, Jessica Mitchell, and Sammy Mitchell; her mother: Ruby A. Lewis of Limestone; three sisters and a brother-in-law: Wanda Nelson of Knoxville, Edith Lewis of Limestone, and Patty and Gary Bowers of Jonesborough; and a special friend: Maxine Proffitt of Chuckey. She was a daughter of the late Cecil Lewis and was preceded in death by a son: Cecil Eddie Mitchell; a granddaughter: Jennifer Mitchell; and a brother: Dale "Hack" Lewis. "Annie" Holt.^1,2 Edna Reed was born on May 22, 1919.^3,4 She died on March 19, 1986 at Johnson City, Washington Co., Tennessee, at age 66.^3,2 She Mrs. Edna Reed Lewis, 66, Rt. 1, Limestone, died Wednesday in Johnson City Medical Center Hospital. Surivors include her husband J.D. Lewis; three daughters, Pasty Kyker, Telford, Lynda Babcock, Orlanda, Fla., and Joan Lewis, Limestone; two sons, Don Lewis, Limestone, and Billy Lewis, Johnson City; four sisters, Udema Jaynes and Lorena Broyles, both of Limestone, Dorothy Cousins, Telford, and Betty Young, Columbia, S.C; three brothers, Clyde Reed, Limestone, Clifford Reed, Mohnton, Pa., and James Reed, Johnson City; seven grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; and several nieces and nephews. on March 20, 1986.²

     Nancy Kay Lewis was buried at Urbana Cemetery, Telford, Washington Co., Tennessee.^1,2 She was born on April 27, 1967 at Greene Co., Tennessee.^6,1,2 She died on November 10, 2009 at Johnson City, Washington Co., Tennessee, at age 42.^1,6,2 She Nancy Kay Lewis, 42, of Limestone, died Tuesday at the Johnson City Medical Center following an extended illness. A native of Greene County, she was a daughter of Don and Lucy Lowe Lewis of Limestone. Miss Lewis was a graduate of David Crockett High School and was a developmental technician at Greene Valley Developmental Center. She was of the Baptist tradition of faith. "She devoted her whole life to loving and helping everyone she met. She loved her nieces, nephews and pets with her every breath," her family stated. Survivors, in addition to her parents, include two sisters and brothers-in-law: Ann and Jerry Bailey and Becky and Warren Cutshall, all of Limestone; her special nieces and nephews: Amber and Brian Hamilton, Ashley Brookshire, Tyler Strickland, Colby Brookshire, Tony Strickland, Michael Hamilton, and Elijah Cutshall, all of Limestone; her grandfather: J.D. Lewis of Limestone; and special friends: Judy Archer and Patty Tittle. She had four special pets: "Cody," "Rusty," "Simone," and "Alley." A committal service will be held in Urbana Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Warren Cutshall, Brian Hamilton, Tyler Strickland, Joe Archer, Russell Lowe, and Jerry Bailey. Honorary pallbearers will be James Ray McKinney, Eli Cutshall, Colby Brookshire, Mikey Hamilton and Tony Strickland. on November 12, 2009.¹

Lewis, age 75, of Limestone, passed away Monday, April 23, 2012 at Laughlin Memorial Hospital after a lengthy illness. A loving and devoted son, father, husband, papaw, brother and friend, Don battled his illness with the same strength and bravery he lived his life. He was the son of the Mr. J.D. and the late Edna Lewis of Limestone. In addition to his mother he was also preceded in death by his wife of 52 years, Lucy Lewis and one daughter, Nancy Lewis. Mrs. Lewis was a devoted wife, mother, granny, sister and friend. Her strength was an inspiration to all who knew her. She was the daughter of the late Lloyd and Margie (Patterson) Lowe. In addition to her parents, Lucy was also preceded in death by a daughter, Nancy Lewis, three brothers and one sister. Survivors include her loving husband of 52 years: Don Lewis, of the home; two daughters and sons-in-law: Ann and Jerry Bailey, and Becky and Warren Cutshall, all of Limestone; two granddaughters and their husbands: Amber and Brian Hamilton, and Ashley and Tyler Strickland; one grandson: Elijah Cutshall; three great-grandsons: Colby Brookshire, Mikey Hamilton and Tony Strickland; one brother: Russell Lowe; three sisters-in-law: Donna Lowe, Judy Lowe and Marie Lowe; and several nephews and nieces. "Annie" Holt, on May 11, 1946.^2,1 Dorothy Ruth Baldwin Dorothy Ruth Baldwin Lewis, 82, of Limestone, died Tuesday at her home. A native of Limestone, she was a daughter of the late W.W. "Bill" and Dollie Williams Baldwin. She was the widow of Ordray "Bingham" Lewis. She was of the Methodist tradition faith. In recent years, she attended Bethany Free Will Baptist Church where her son-in-law, the Rev. Donnie Bailey, is pastor. Mrs. Lewis was a former employee of Greene Valley Developmental Center. Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law: Charles and Carolyn Lewis of Limestone; two daughters and sons-in-law: Jane and Donnie Bailey and Judy and Joe Archer, all of Limestone; her grandchildren and their spouses; Deanna and Don Shepard, Stephen and Carrie Lewis, Jessica and Steve Hartley, Kelly and John Lemmons, Phillip Archer, and Brandon Archer; her great-grandchildren: Cody Shepard, Tucker Shepard, Bo Shepard, Kailey Hartley, Kai Hartley, and Kaden Hartley; two brothers and a sister-in-law, W.W. "Wimpy" Baldwin Jr. and his wife, Maxine of Limestone, and Ralph Baldwin of Chuckey; a brother-in-law: Jim McCurry of Johnson City; and three special sisters-in-law: Helen Kyker, Virginia Crane, and Margaret Jaynes. She was preceded in death by a sister, Bonnie McCurry. A committal service will be held in Urbana Cemetery in Limestone.      Charles Joe Lewis was buried at Salem Cemetery, Limestone, Washington Co., Tennessee.^4,3 He was born on March 8, 1948 at Tennessee.⁴ He married Carolyn Elizabeth Taylor on April 12, 1974 at Limestone, Washington Co., Tennessee.^2,3 Charles Joe Lewis died on November 14, 2020 at Johnson City, Washington Co., Tennessee, at age 72.^4,3 He Charles "Charlie" J. Lewis, 72, of Limestone, earned his angel wings on November 14, 2020, at Franklin Woods Hospital. Charlie was a loving husband of 46 years to Carolyn Taylor Lewis. He was a wonderful father, granddaddy, brother and uncle. Charlie graduated from Washington College Academy in 1966 and earned a degree in fire science from Walters State Community College. He served in numerous capacities in local and state fire associations. It was his passion for the fire-fighting that led him to his career as an instructor and training coordinator with the Tennessee Fire Academy. Charlie was a well-known and well-respected advocate and mentor for the Fire Fighters' Brotherhood. In addition to his wife, Charlie is survived by a son, Stephen (Carrie) Lewis of Limestone, a daughter, Kelly (John) Lemmons of New Market, four grandchildren, Carter Lewis, Eli Lewis, Samuel Lemmons and Rachel Lemmons, two sisters, Jane (Donnie) Bailey and Judy (Joe) Archer, a sister-in-law, Rebecca Taylor, and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ordray "Bingham" and Dorothy Baldwin Lewis. Charlie was an active member of the Salem Presbyterian Church. He served as an elder, deacon and trustee. Charlie was also a lifetime member of the Limestone Volunteer Fire Department and served as a former fire chief. Graveside service will be at Salem Cemetery. on November 18, 2020.³
