     Virginia Mae Whitlow Virginia Mae Whitlow Brown, 90 of Grafton, WV, a former resident of Oakvale, died Friday, September 10, 2021, at her residence. Born in Kellysville December 26, 1930, she was the daughter of the late Noah Curtis and Elizabeth Bailey Whitlow. She retired as a cook from Princeton Health Care Center in 1999 and formerly cooked in the Mercer County School System. Virginia was a 1949 graduate and Valedictorian of Oakvale High School. She formerly attended Lifeline Princeton Church of God Peterstown location with her late daughter. She had been a resident of Grafton for the past four years moving there from Glen Lynn VA. In addition to her parent's Virginia was preceded in death by her husband, William Herbert "Bill" Brown; one son, Larry Stephen Brown; one daughter, Melanie Faye Brown Dewese; two brothers, Little Billy Whitlow and Oakey Whitlow and one sister, Beatrice Whitlow Turner. Survivors include four granddaughters, Michelle Angus and husband Rob of Grafton, WV, with whom she made her home, Melissa Meadows and husband Jay of Euless, TX, Jennifer Brown of Bedford, TX and Stephanie Bayles and husband Anthony of Virginia Beach, VA; Five great-grandchildren, William, Alec, and Kylie Angus and Brayden and Brenna Meadows; two brothers, Tony Whitlow, and wife Betty of Elgood and Buddy Whitlow and wife Joyce of Oakvale; one sister-in-law, Betty Whitlow of Peterstown, WV.7 She was born on December 26, 1929 at Kellysville, Mercer Co., West Virginia.7 As of circa 1951,her married name was Brown.1 She married William Herbert "Bill" Brown circa 1951.2,3,5,7,1 Virginia Mae Whitlow died on September 10, 2021 at Grafton, Taylor Co., West Virginia, at age 91.7

He was born December 28, 1928, in Oakvale, WV, a son to Rufus E. and Eula Walls Brown. He enjoyed farming and spending time with his family. He is survived by his wife of 69 years, Virginia Mae Whitlow Brown and a brother James Brown of Clarksburg, WV; four grandchildren, Melissa (Jay) Meadows of Euless, TX, Jennifer Brown of Bedford, TX, Michelle (Rob) Angus of Grafton, WV and Stephanie (Anthony) Bayles of Smithfield, VA, and five great-grandchildren, Alec Angus, Kylie Angus, Brayden Meadows, Brenna Meadows, and William Angus. In addition to his parents, William was preceded in death by his two children Larry Stephen Brown and Melanie Brown Dewese; two brothers, Rufus Randolph Brown and Everett Eugene Brown, and one sister Evelyn Brown French. He retired from the Celanese Corporation of Narrows, VA, after 50 years of employment. He was also a 50 plus year member of the A.F. & A.M. John Dove Masonic Lodge No. 78 of Peterstown, WV. Funeral services will be held in her late residence at 10 o'clock tomorrow morning. Interment will take place tomorrow afternoon in a cemetery at Goshen, Clearfield county. on January 4, 1932.4

She was born on February 13, 1918 in Surveyor, a daughter of the late Thomas G. and Viola (Cole) Smith. Mrs. Rougeux was employed as a cleaning lady for Mountain Laurel Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Clearfield, Clearfield Hospital and the Dimeling Hotel. She is survived by four children, Eugene H. Smith and wife Charlotte R. of Frenchville, Barbara Shirey and husband William of Frenchville, Violet Shugerts and husband Kenneth of Frenchville, Sandra Kuhn and husband Roger of Clearfield, 16 grandchildren, Randy Smith, Robin Shaw, Rhonda Uttam, Michael Smith, Joann McCracken, Bob Shirey, Barbara Trimpey, James Shirey, Jennifer Rich, Rogena Harper, Angela Mayhew, Peggy Kuhn, Roger Kuhn, Melanie Kuhn, Tina Shadduck, Teresa Shugerts, 23 great-grandchildren, 4 great great grandchildren, a brother and three sisters, Eugene H. Smith and wife Virginia of Indiana, Cleo Stiner and husband Dean of Hanover, June Winning of Nanty Glo, Jane McGarry and husband Don of WA, and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James M. Rougeux on March 16, 1969 and whom she married in Lock Haven, five brothers, Richard, Clifford, Clair, Thomas and Robert Smith, and a sister Genevieve Smith. At the request of Mrs. Rougeux, there will be no public visitation or funeral services. Interment will be in the Gillingham Cemetery, Frenchville at the convenience of the family. The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to the charity of one's choice. The Kevin A. Born June 19, 1919, at LeContes Mills, Clearfield County, he was a son of Thomas and Viola Smith. Mr. Smith was a coal miner for 42 years. He loved hunting, fishing, bowling, riding horses, snowmoiling and spending time with family and friends. He is survived by his wife of 71 years, Virginia Smith; a daughter, Helen L. Ferguson and her husband, James; five sons, Eugene H. Smith and his wife, Charlotte, of LeContes Mills, Robert G. Smith and his wife, Laura, of Indiana, William J. Smith and his wife, Donna, of Chambersville, Donald L. Smith and his wife Vicki, of Homer City; 20 grandchildren; 26 great-grand-children; three great-great-grand-children; three sisters, Cleo Stiver of Hanover, June Winning of Nanty Glo and Jane McGeary of Seattle, Wash; and numerous nieces and nephews. Mr. Smith was preceded in death by his parents; five brothers, Clifford, Richard, Clair, Robert and Thomas Smith; and one sister, Frances Rougeux. Family and friends will be received from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Wednesday, July 7, at Robinson-Lytle Inc., Indiana. Funeral services will be held at 1:30 P.m. Thursday, July 8, at the funeral home. Interment will be at Oakland Cemetery Mausoleum.
