She was born August 19, 1925, in Bridgeport, the daughter of the late Arden S. and Lena Lancaster Winter. She was preceded in death by her husband, James Randolph Thornton in 1972. She is survived by a son, Samuel R. Thornton and his wife, Rebecca; two grandsons, Randy Thornton and his significant other, Vana Sendling; her daughter, Jazzlyn and Joshua Thornton and his wife, Laurel and their daughter, Leora. Madeline earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in nutrition from West Virginia University and completed her master’s from Ohio State University. She began working in nutrition at St. Mary’s Hospital in Clarksburg and later retired with 30 years of service as head of the dietary department at United Hospital Center. She was a member of Bridgeport United Methodist Church. She loved her family and spending time camping and watching Randy and Josh’s soccer games. They called her “Nee Nee” and together they shared amazing moments of love, which included “floorgate” or a tailgate party at home watching the West Virginia Mountaineers. “Nee Nee” will be greatly missed by family and friends. Friends will be received at the Ford Funeral Home, 215 East Main Street, Bridgeport, WV, on Friday from noon-1 p.m. A funeral service will be celebrated in the funeral home on Friday, October 12, 2018, at 1 p.m. with Reverend Dr. Ken A. Ramsey presiding. The interment will follow in the Bridgeport Cemetery. on October 10, 2018.1 She died on October 10, 2018 at Bridgeport, Harrison Co., West Virginia, at age 93.1

He is survived by his father, Wally Denison; mother, Kelly Denison; and his sister, Mallory Denison. Marshall was born on October 23, 1992, in Roanoke, Virginia. Marshall was born with cerebral palsy and though he was physically limited, he was known best for his brilliant smile and joyful laugh. Marshall had a deep love of music, especially country music. Though his favorite was always recordings made during his time at Andrew Lewis Middle School in Mrs. Bowles choir class. He loved going on adventures in his van, particularly cruising on the Blue Ridge Parkway and riding through the Virginia Safari Park feeding the animals. Marshall was also very active in the Amateur Radio community along with his family. He was member number 142.1 of the Virginia Fone Net, he was an honorary lifetime member of the Roanoke Valley Amateur Radio Club, and he was best known as the sheriff of the 805 Ragchewers Net. Marshall was blessed to have an extended family in his team of home health nurses, many of whom were with him for a majority of his life. Penny Mitchell, Leola Lemons, Leann Frith, Marian Musgrove, and many others were by his side around the clock each day ensuring he received the best medical care. His time with his nurses was special and they enriched his life beyond just medical care. He enjoyed doing crafts with Penny, taking van rides with Leola, watching the Fast and the Furious movies with Marian, and enjoying stories from Leann about her boys' adventures. on January 8, 2023.2
