Born August 6, 1929 in Crystal, W.Va., she was the daughter of the late Dave Thomas Sizemore and Flora Gilbert Sizemore. She was a member of the Maybeury Church of God. She was a homemaker, and a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and a friend to all who knew her. Zettie was a resident of Elkhorn most of her life, and was the last surviving member of her immediate family. Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 49 years, Luther Andrew Cannady on September 27, 1995; five sisters, Clara Byrd, Ola Davidson, Kathryn Shrader, Shelby Evans, and Frances Burks; three brothers, Fitzhugh Sizemore, Clarence Sizemore, and Newton Sizemore; also one infant grandchild; and one infant great-grandchild. She leaves to cherish her memory one daughter, Sandra Mote and husband Terry of Cincinnati, Ohio; one son, David "Randy" Cannady and fiance Regina Pickett of Elkhorn, W.Va. who were her caregivers; five grandchildren, Leandre Gerwin and husband Paul of Cincinnati, Ohio, Kay Hill and husband Brian of Princeton, W.Va., Selena Bennett and companion Mike of Ballard, W.Va., Lt. David Bruce Cannady and wife April stationed with the U.S. Navy in Jacksonville, Fla., Joseph Cannady and companion Desiree of Princeton, W.Va; eight great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and her church family; special friends and caregivers, Buddy, Donna, Megan, Lulu, and Booboo Paynter. Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday, Nov. 9, 2010 at 1:00 p.m. at the Widener Funeral Home Chapel, Northfork, W.Va. with the Reverend Kenneth Abram and the Reverend Dolly Sexton officiating. Burial will follow at the Roselawn Memorial Gardens, Princeton, W.Va. Friends may call Tuesday at the funeral home from 11:00 a.m. until the hour of service. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers. If desired, memorial contributions may be made in her memory to the Maybeury Church of God, Maybeury, W.Va., 24861. Arrangements by Widener Funeral Home, Northfork, W.Va. on November 8, 2010.3

Box 33) went to be with the Lord late Friday evening, April 9, 2004 at the Westwood Health Care Center after a long illness. Born April 8, 1955 in Bluefield, she was the daughter of the late George Sparks Sr. and Elsie Cook Sparks. She was a 1973 honor graduate of Bramwell High School. She attended Bluefield State College and Concord College, she was a former employee of the Colonial Theater, Bluefield, she was a former employee of Ammar's of Bluefield, Va., where she worked as an accountant. She was a member of the Lorton Lick Baptist Church. She was a homemaker, and a resident of Elkhorn for the past 16 years. Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by one sister, Jennifer Schierholt; and one nephew. Survivors include her husband of 11 years, David Randall "Randy" Cannady of the home; one stepdaughter, Selena Bennett and husband, Steve of Ballard; two stepsons, David Bruce Cannady and wife, April of Peterstown and Joseph Davis Cannady of Ballard; twin sister, Linda Sparks of Bluewell; one brother, George D. Sparks Jr. and wife, Vickie of Bramwell; three step-grandchildren, one niece, one nephew, one great-niece, mother-in-law, Zettie Cannandy of Elkhorn; and a host of other family and friends. Brenda was a caring and loving person who always had a concern for others and will be sadly missed by all who knew her. Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday at 11 a.m. at the Widener Funeral Home Chapel, Northfork, with the Rev. Shawn Bragg and the Rev. Ronald Miller officiating. Burial will follow at the Roselawn Memorial Gardens, Princeton. Friends may call today from 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home. Serving the family as pallbearers will be Joseph Cannady, David Cannady, Keith Abel, Michael Ball, Tommy White, and Pat Davis.
