He was married June 16, 1899 to Catherine Reed who died February 23, 1942. He retired from UNG November 11, 1934. He was a member of the First Methodist Church in Clarion. He joined the Clarion IOOF Lodge in 1902 and was a member of the Clarion Encampment. For many years he was custodian of the IOOF Lodge and a member of the Hall Association. Surviving are five sons, Floyd S. and Geary of Clarion, Charles E. of Brockport, Paul W. of Erie, Francis C. of San Mateo, Calif; three daughters and a foster daughter, Mildred Bigley at home, Mrs. C. S. (Helen) Porter of Canton, Ohio, Mrs. James (Catherine) Eberline of Clarion R D, and Mrs. J. R. McCaskill of Hartsville, S.C. Also surviving are 14 grandchildren and 28 grandchildren. In addition to his wife, a granddaughter, a grandson, five sisters and eight brothers are deceased. Friends are being received at the Goble Funeral home in Clarion from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today and Sunday. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday in the funeral home. Interment will be in the Clarion Cemetery. Members of the IOOF Lodge will hold memorial services in the funeral home at 8 p.m. Sunday. on December 2, 1961.5

Also surviving are two sons, Michael Bigley of Cologne, Germany, and Richard Bigley of Glen Burnie, Md; three grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents, Mr. Bigley was preceded in death by two sisters; three brothers; and one granddaughter. Visitation will be held from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday in the Goble Funeral Home of Clarion. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday in the funeral home. Bigley of Harborcreek; two daughters, Mrs. Richard Evans of Lawrence Park and Mrs. Richard Richer of North East; two stepsons, Stanley and Richard Mikotowicz of Erie; a stepdaughter, Mrs. Richard Sheely of Erie; three brothers, Francis of San Francisco, Calif., Charles and Geary, both of Clarion; three sisters, Mrs. James Eberline and Miss Mildred Bigley, both of Clarion, and Mrs. Helen Porter of Canton, Ohio; and 19 grandchildren. A brother, Floyd S. Bigley, preceded him in death in 1966. Funeral services were held Saturday in the C. J. Dusckas Funeral Home in Erie with Howard Pape, pastor of Lawrence Park Methodist Church, officiating. Interment was in Lakeside Cemetery. on April 25, 1972.5
