He passed away on Friday, July 31, 2015, at CMAC Memorial Hospital in Charleston. Raymond worked for the telephone company in Bluefield for over 30 years and was an Army Veteran. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge, Eagles, Elks and Moose in Charleston. He was also a member of the VVA Chapter 1072 of White Sulphur Springs. Also, his lifelong friend, John Ray of White Sulphur Springs. He requested no services and his body to be donated to the West Virginia School of Osteopathic Medicine. on August 7, 2015.⁴

Vergie, a retired supervisor for Remington Products, was born in Montcalm, W.Va. to the late Henry and Lura (Martin) Shrader and was a long time Connecticut resident. She had a great talent and love for making crafts for family and friends. She truly enjoyed preparing her Southern meals and she will forever be remembered for her delicious "beans and cornbread" dinners. Survivors include her beloved children, James Conner and his wife Mary-Anne of Connecticut, Lois Bray Kaminski and her husband Frank, and Wanda Thomsen and her husband Jonny, all of Florida; four grandchildren, Frank Kaminski, James Conner and his wife Carissa, Brett Conner, Amy Lee and her two children Sharmel and Melek King; her longtime loving companion, Bernard Reilly and his family of Connecticut; a brother, Lester Shrader of Bluefield, W.Va; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husbands, William Bray and Alfred Conner; four brothers, Henry, John, Buster and Larmer; and four sisters, Effie, Marie, Elvira and Betty. He had 25 years of volunteer service with the local chapter of the Glenwood Action Civitan Club, an organization for funding programs to help mentally and physically impaired individuals in the Mercer County area. He was a member of Yesterday's Rides Antique Car Club and attended First United Methodist Church in Princeton. In addition to his parents, one sister, Darlene Lansbury, and one brother-in-law, John Shulick, preceded him in death. She spent many of these years caring for and helping raise 13 children. She had been a resident of Princeton since 1993 moving here from Richmond, Va. Survivors include four brothers, Charles "Henry" Conner and wife Cecelia of Lincoln, Neb., Lawrence Conner and wife Tiny, Lewis D. Conner, Sr. and wife Regina, and Jerry Conner and wife Liz all of Princeton; and one sister, Phyllis Shockley of Bumpass, Va. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, August 1, 2009 at the George W. Seaver Chapel of Seaver Funeral Home in Princeton with Pastor Rich Hodges officiating.
