She was also preceded in death by her husband, Mirl Lore; brothers, Jess, Roy and Freddie; and sisters Leona Slater, Loraine Crane, and Ethel Pauley. Elsie was one of the first members of Davis Creek Church of the Nazarene and a Sunday school teacher for over 41 years. Since 1984 Elsie had faithfully attended Center Pointe Community Church of the Nazarene in Orlando. Elsie is survived by her sister, Ruby Higginbotham of Hurricane; daughter, Bonnie Lore; a daughter and her husband, Shirley and Bob Hudson, and their sons, Rob and Todd, and their wives, Kathy and Alicia; and four great-grandchildren, Bobby, Crystal, Dakota and Tiffany, all of Orlando. Burial will be in Graceland Memorial Park, South Charleston. The family wishes to thank the doctors and nurses of Hospice of the Comforter for their professional and compassionate care and also the many friends who have been so faithful to help in so many ways. on February 29, 2008.1

She worked at the State Capitol, and became a hair stylist while living in West Virginia. She was most proud of being a mother and house wife for most of her life. She attended South Charleston High School and Davis Creek Church of the Nazarene, where she met the love of her life, Robert L. Hudson, whom she married in Charleston in 1956. They lived in Germany, while Bob served in the military, Charleston, West Virginia and moved to Orlando, Florida in 1980, where she decorated the custom homes that Bob and their two sons built for the next three plus decades as Hudson Construction Inc. Shirley and Bob were active with Work and Witness efforts of the Church of the Nazarene and other organizations. After moving to Florida, she became an active member of the Central Church of the Nazarene (now Center Pointe). She was involved over 20 World Wide Mission Trips in many countries. She is preceded in death by a sister, Bonnie Lore. She is survived by two sons, Robert Hudson Jr. and Todd Hudson; four grandchildren, Robert Hudson III, Crystal Hudson, Dakota Hudson, and Tiffany Hudson. Deborah Lore Deborah L. Adkins, 73, of Charleston passed away November 22, 2024, at WVU Medicine/Thomas Memorial Hospital. Deborah was a graduate of South Charleston High School and worked for the KB&T Trust Department, WV Bankers Association, was a bookkeeper for Cedar Coal and worked 22 years at the Charleston Mail Processing Facility. Deborah was an Army wife and spent six years with her husband at assignments in the United States and Germany. Deborah had strong family ties and was definitely her father's daughter. She learned strength and determination and to always seek the right. She gave generously of her time to care for her parents during their final years.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Raymond L. Lore, Sr. and Betty Hudson Lore; and sister, Connie Lore Zimmerman. She is survived by her husband, Paul Fletcher Adkins, Jr; brother, Raymond L. Lore, Jr; sister, Brenda Lore Thompson; and nieces, Jennifer L. Thekan and Nichole Bradley. Connie Renee Lore Connie Renee Zimmerman, 68, of Hurricane, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, September 18, 2023, after a long battle with cancer. She was born on February 20, 1955 in South Charleston, to the late Raymond and Betty Lore. Connie was a loving mother, friend and partner. She loved gardening, animals, hot-rodding, and the outdoors. She had a contagious smile that would light up a room and she brought joy to everyone who was blessed enough to know her. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her granddaughter, Kristen Jean Emery. Conn of Hollywood, after a long illness. She was born May 14, 1914, in Indiana, the daughter of the late Thomas Earl and Hilda Mable Lanier Poff. She was also preceded in death by her husband of 46 years, Lonnie "Ross" Pauley in 1979; two sons, Thomas Allen Pauley in 1991 and Lonnie Leroy Pauley in 2000; two daughters-in-law, Wilma Sowards Pauley and Pansy Saunders Pauley; a son-in-law, Wilkie Barrett; brother, Ronald Guy Poff; and two sisters, Louise Pauley and Irene Skaggs. She had held down many jobs outside the home, including as a cook at Morris Memorial Nursing Home and at George C. Wymer Elementary School. She was a loving mother, daughter, wife, sister and grandmother and was a friend to all. She was a Christian and had attended, in most recent years, Laywell Church of Christ and Hurricane Church of Christ and Lighthouse Ministries in Hollywood. She is survived by daughters, Margaret McBrayer and her husband, Lewis, of Davisville, W.Va., Frances Barrett of Proctorville, Ohio; Blenda Conn and her ex-husband, Eugene, of Hollywood, Doris Pauley and her ex-husband, Charles, of Culloden, W.Va; daughter-in-law, Carol Pauley-Anderson of Charleston, W.Va; brother, Boyd R. Poff of St. Albans, W.Va; sisters, Isabelle Monk of South Charleston, W.Va., Thelma Humphreys of St. Albans; a sister-in-law, Dorothy Poff of St. Albans; 13 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren and many stepgrandchildren; many special nieces, nephews and cousins; her very special friend, Jack Bottone of Hollywood; special nurse, Madge; and hospice caregivers, Norma and Twyla of Hollywood. Burial will be in Cunningham Memorial Park, St. Albans. on March 20, 2004.1
