Vera was born in Meredosia, Illinois, on May 25, 1933, and was the only child of Leo and Ane Seawalt. From Illinois, her family moved to Tigard, Oregon, and later to Raymond, Washington, where she graduated from Raymond High School in 1951. Vera married Dwight Smart in 1952, and they had two sons, Craig and David. Vera and Dwight later divorced. Vera married Elvel (Al) Hill in 1962. Both Vera and Al were passionate about music. They sang in the Chancel Choir of Boise's First United Methodist Church, and were members of the Boise Showtimers and performed in numerous community music programs. She never lost her love for music and was completely thrilled with her nearly front-row seat at the 2012 Josh Groban concert in Boise. Vera worked for KGEM Radio and was office manager for many years at the Royal Restaurant in Boise. In 1978, Vera and Al moved to Hailey, Idaho, and in 1985, relocated to McCall after Al's retirement from Idaho Power Company. It was during this time they started cross-country skiing, and also enjoyed exploring the area. They were thrilled to show visiting family and friends parts of Idaho that they both loved, as well as traveling extensively until Al's sudden death in 1989. Shortly after that, Vera returned to Boise to be close to family, portraying a strong "survivor" image to family and friends - - she even put "Sur5r" on her car's license plate. Vera is preceded in death by her parents and her husband. She is survived by her sons, Craig Smart (Teresa) and David Smart; and stepchildren, Deanna Mendiola (Carlos), Steve Hill (Judy), and Carol Warren (Bob). Vera was a very proud and loving grandmother to her 11 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great-grandson, providing them many wonderful memories of her. She is also survived by her sister-in-law, Aletha Hill, and several nephews and nieces. A memorial service and celebration of Vera's life will be held at 11:00 a.m., Monday, October 13, 2014, at Cloverdale Funeral Home, 1200 North Cloverdale Road, Boise, ID. on October 10, 2014.3

Kenneth E. Uhrig was buried at Eastside Cemetery, Midvale, Washington Co., Idaho.3 He was born on April 23, 1932 at Weiser, Washington Co., Idaho.3 He married Judy Rae Adams on November 4, 1966.3 Kenneth E. Uhrig died on April 18, 2013 at age 80.3 He Kenneth E. Uhrig, age 80, of Weiser passed away on Thursday, April 18, 2013. Ken was born April 23, 1932 in Weiser to Albert F. and Ethel M. Uhrig. Ken was raised on a ranch on Crane Creek southeast of Midvale with three brothers. After graduation from high school he joined the army and served in Alaska, where he peeled a lot of potatoes. After discharge from the Army, he worked construction on the Brownlee Dam for two weeks until he got appendicitis. He returned to the ranch where he worked with his brothers Ed and Glenn. Ken was very active in the community serving on the boards of the Consumers Co-Op, the Elks, and the Midvale School. He also served on the planning and zoning commission for Washington County, with the Sheriff’s posse (where they liked him to stand at the door as a bouncer… not because he’d throw people out, but he’d talk them into doing what he wanted them to do), and was a proud member of the Midvale Lions. He married Judith Rae Adams on November 4, 1966. They had two children, Don and Lori. The ranch was sold in January 1996 and he and Judy retired to 20 acres outside of Weiser. Just enough to keep him busy, not enough to keep him from fishing. Ken spent as much time as possible hunting, packing, and occasionally catching a fish - though never as many as Linda Harlan. Just ask Neil. Ken was preceded in death by his parents Albert and Ethel, and his brothers Glenn and Ed. He is survived by his wife Judy, son, Don and daughter, Lori, brother, Robert (Mimi), sisters in law, Ruth Uhrig and Janee Adams and several nephews and nieces. Services will be held at graveside Monday April 22, 2013 at 2 pm at Eastside Cemetery in Midvale under the direction of Thomason Funeral Home. Family and friends will then gather at the VFW hall in Midvale. on April 23, 2013.3
