Burial will follow in the family cemetery at Maple Meadow. Mrs. Acord, who died Tuesday at 4 p.m. in the home of her daughter, Mrs. Estelle Richards, of Glen White, is survived, in addition to the husband and Mrs. Richards, by the following children: Oba Acord of Zela; Gaylord of Stotesbury; Earl Acord of Ury; Randolph Acord, Leonard Acord, Mrs. Roberta Mutter, all of Glen White. on September 23, 1948.5

Born March, 1, 1888, he was son of the late John and Mary Eliza Meadows Acord. Acord is survived by six sons, Gaylord, Melbourne, Fla., Randolph and Oba both of Gilboa, and Earl, Leonard and Donald, all of Glen White; two sisters, Mrs. Alice Cavendish, Elfers, Fla., and Mrs. Ellen Gray, Orlando, Fla; 21 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by wife, Stella Mae Tolliver Acord. Friends may call at Williams Funeral Home, Sophia, today from 6 p.m. until 9 p.m. The body will be taken to the church an hour prior to services. Pallbearers will be Brazil, Estel and Mason Richards, John Meadows, Lloyd Acord, Jimmie Wood, Paul Pittman and Tom Whitey. on July 26, 1974.4

She was a homemaker who enjoyed cooking, quilting, canning, shopping and being with her family. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Leonard Acord; sons, Arnold and Rodney Acord; brother, Bud Richards; sisters, Nora Richards, Clara Wiley, Ethel Martin and Ceretha Tedder. Those left to cherish her memory includes her sons, Lawrence Richards and wife Beth of Beckley, Leonard Acord of Odd, Jeffrey Acord of Sandstone and John Acord of Beckley; daughters, Stella Asbury and husband Rodger of Beckley, Wilma Ward and husband Donald of Ghent and Penny Young of Beckley; brothers, Howard Richards of Charleston and Johnny Richards of Glen White; 12 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
