He was a loving and wonderful husband, father, grandfather, sibling, and friend to many. He was preceded in death by his father, Edgar Crowder; sister: Barbara Pace; and daughter, Holly McReynolds Smith. Survivors include his wife, Judy Crowder and their children and spouses, Jennifer Clancy and husband, Sean, Rebecca Braddock and Clark Crowder; grandchildren, Elizabeth Crowder, Rachel Braddock, and Tylor Orr; siblings, Doris Fletcher and James (Chub) Crowder; and his mother, Helen Crowder. His life was also graced with special friends who provided him friendship and support. A special thank you to Wellmont Hospice for their care and support. The family will receive friends after 6 p.m. prior to the service, Tuesday, September 19, 2017, in the Combs Funeral Service Chapel. Funeral services will be held at 8 p.m. with the Rev Don Bush officiating. Entombment will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, September 20, 2017, in the Chapel of Love Mausoleum at Temple Hill Memorial Park. Those attending are requested to meet at the Mausoleum at the time of service. Serving the family as pallbearers will be Danny Clark, Greg Clark, Rodger Owens, Donnie Ramey, Steve Austin, Calvin Grizzle, and Jim Dotson. Honorary pallbearers include Doug Baker, Beaver Stoots, Scott Owens, Dallas Hubbard, Jerry Barnette, David Osborne, and all his many golf friends over the years. on September 19, 2017.¹

     Evelyn Crowder ST. PAUL, VIRGINIA - Evelyn Crowder, 88, died Thursday, September 27, 2012 at Indian Path Medical Center, Kingsport, Tennessee. She was born in Dante, Virginia; daughter of the late Charles and Rebecca Byers Crowder. She was preceded in death by four sisters, her twin sister, Thelma Lee Crowder, Mae Harris, Alice Snodgrass, and Ruth Rizza; and one brother, Edgar E. Crowder. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in St. Paul, Virginia. She worked for 30 years in the Clinchfield Pharmacy at Dante. She helped contribute information for the book Memories From Dante. She is survived by three nieces, Doris Fletcher and husband, Kyle of St. Paul, Virginia, Barbara Pace of Juno Beach, Florida, and Gloria Armentrout of Staunton, Virginia; four nephews, Carson Beverly Hamilton and wife, Sandy of Roanoke, Virginia, Gary Crowder and wife, Judy of Lebanon, Virginia, James "Chub" Crowder and wife, Benny of St. Paul, Virginia, and Joe Rizza and wife, Lisa of Baltimore, Maryland; one sister-in-law, Helen Crowder of St. Paul, Virginia; several great nieces and nephews. Funeral Services for Evelyn Crowder will be conducted at 3:00 p.m. Sunday, September 30, 2012 in Castlewood Funeral Home Chapel, Castlewood, Virginia with Rev. Mike Moore officiating. Interment will follow in Temple Hill Memorial Park, Castlewood, Virginia. Pallbearers will be Steve Austin, Jerry Barnette, Harry Kelly, Stephen Hamilton, Kyle Fletcher, Chub Crowder, and Ken Ball. The family will receive friends from 2:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. Sunday, September 30, 2012 in Castlewood Funeral Home, Castlewood, Virginia.
