She was a volunteer at Lewis-Gale Hospital for many years and enjoyed talking to the patients and visitors, always trying to make everyone feel better. Dorothy was a homemaker that was always busy. In early years, she sewed clothes for her children and sometimes for neighbors. She loved to quilt and crochet; she also loved to cook. Christmas was a special time for her where she enjoyed making Christmas favorites and making sure that there was something under the tree for everyone. She loved to travel, taking many bus trips. She lived a long and eventful life and now she is starting a new life where she is no longer suffering from any ailments and is whole again. The family would like to thank Friendship Manor North, especially the folks on the 5th floor of the Assisted Living Building, the teams that worked with her this week at the Transitional Health Division, the staff at Kindred/Gentiva Hospice, especially Monica, Courtney, Johnette, and Chaplin Jeremy. on December 21, 2022.²
