Walter grew up in Brooklyn, N.Y., graduated from Adelphi Academy then Columbia University with a degree in Mining Engineering. He served in the United States Army. He was employed by New Jersey Zinc Company in Austinville, Va., then National Gypsum Company in Pearisburg, Va. He truly enjoyed living in Southwest Virginia, calling it "God's Country." Throughout his life, he spent much time in the service of others, working with the Austinville Ruritan Club, Boy Scouts of America, and as a long standing member of Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church. He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife, Alice "Betty" Paulson. He will be greatly missed by Ann Henley Paulson, his wife of eight years, children and grandchildren. He is survived by his children and their families, Dianne, Bill, Seth and Abigail Lacy, of Radford, Va., Mark, Anne, Courtney and Nick Paulson, of Durham, N.C., Martin, Ann Marie, Brigitta, Marta, and Louisa Paulson, of Draper, Va; and Ann's daughter and grandson, Susan and Todd Paris, of Stuart, Va. Visitation will be held from 1 to 3 p.m. on Saturday, September 7, 2013, at Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church in Pulaski, Va., with a celebration of Walter's life beginning at 3 p.m. on Saturday with Pastor Terrie Sternberg officiating. A Graveside Service will follow at Oakwood Cemetery in Pulaski. on September 5, 2013.⁴

     Myracle Janaria Sainek Hill was buried at Webb Cemetery, Bent Mountain, Roanoke Co., Virginia.¹ She was born on October 24, 2006 at Roanoke, Virginia.^1,2 She died on January 11, 2007 at Charlottesville, Virginia.^1,3 She Myracle Janaria Sainek Hill, 2 months, of Roanoke, passed away Thursday, January 11, 2007. Survivors include parents, Kimberly Webb and Steven Hill; brother, Xzavier Hill; sister, Tracy Williams; grandparents, Owen and Lenora Paige, Sandra Hill, Henry Coleman; great-grandparents, Virginia Smith, Claris Webb. Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Monday, January 15, 2007 at Bent Mountain Baptist Church with the Rev. Wallace Brown officiating. Interment will follow at Webb Cemetery. Visitation will be from 12 noon to 1 p.m. Monday, prior to the funeral service. Arrangements by Maberry Funeral Home, Floyd. on January 14, 2007.¹
