Sigmon, all of Rocky Mount. Her grandchildren, who were her greatest love, and their spouses are Don and Patti Love, Roanoke, Ann and Bill Barnette, Moneta, Pam and Mark Hanks, Bedford, Steve and Lesley Hall, Tony Hudson, Greg Sigmon, Angie Sigmon, Lila Sigmon, Jennifer Houseman, Tiffany Housman, Renee and Keith Stevens and Ricky Sigmon, all of Rocky Mount. Also surviving are three great-grandchildren, Kelsey Hall, Keaton Hanks and Gavin Hanks. Surviving are two sisters, Myrtle Ratliff, Rocky Gap and Ethel Bivens, Marion; also several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted 11 a.m. Monday, March 24, 1997, at Lynch Funeral Home Chapel, with Dr. Joe R. Bryant officiating. Interment will follow in Franklin Memorial Park. Survivors include his wife, Maxine Hurst Sigmon of the home; son, Richard Sigmon and wife Julia of Rt. 1, Bluefield, W.Va; daughters, Tammy Bailey and husband Ian of Bluefield, W.Va., Susan Windle of Princeton, W.Va; brothers, Donald Sigmon of Sterling, Va., Ronald Sigmon of Sterling, Va., Dennis Sigmon of Princeton, W.Va; sister, Brenda Mills of Monroe County, W.Va; seven grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, June 4, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. at the Cravens-Shires Funeral Home in Bluewell with Minister Gary Lamie officiating. Burial will follow at Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Princeton with Richard Sigmon, Justin Neel, Mark Neel, Charles Goode, David Thomason, Barry Sigmon, and Ian Bailey serving as pallbearers. Military graveside honors will be performed by the West Virginia Honor Guard and the Mercer County Veterans Council. on June 1, 2011.5

Mr. Love was born March 22, 1927, in Sydnorsville, Va., and was a son of the late George Cabell and Mary Brown Love. Mr. Love was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving during the Korean Conflict. He was stationed in Germany and Austria with the Engineer Construction Division for most of his service. Mr. Love was a talented carpenter working with his brothers, Doug Love, Carlton Love, and the late Kyle Love. Numerous homes and churches in the Martinsville/Henry County area and Smith Mountain Lake had his trademark craftsmanship. He had a love for building, which showed in the quality work he displayed. Mr. Love had a passion for all sports and was an avid Washington Redskins and Los Angeles Dodgers fan. He was a great husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend. Mr. Love was preceded in death by his wife of 43 years, Peggy Sigmon Love; brothers, Kyle Love, Harry Love, and Herbert Love; sisters, Christine Love and Edith Grey Love; and sister-in-law, Coralea Love. Mr. Love is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Don and Patti Love, of Roanoke; daughters and sons-in-law, Ann Love and Bill Barnette, of Rocky Mount and Pam and Mark Hanks, of Pulaski; grandsons, Keaton Hanks and Gavin Hanks, of Pulaski; stepgrandson and wife, Scott and Lee Markham, of Roanoke; one great-grandson, Max Markham, of Roanoke; special friend and loving companion for many years, Lucy Davis, of Martinsville; brothers and sisters-in-law, Doug Love, of Collinsville, Carlton and Linda Love, of Ridgeway and Randy and Fatena Love, of Rocky Mount; sister and brother-in-law, Georgia and Bob Firebaugh, of Salem; sisters-in-law, Charlotte Love, of Collinsville, Ethel Love, of Sontag and Thelma Love, of Stuart; numerous nieces and nephews.      Van Buren "V. B." Hall Jr. was born on May 22, 1932 at Franklin Co., Virginia.3,4 He married Willard Alice Sigmon, daughter of Daniel Elbert "Dan" Sigmon and Vera Mae Weddle, circa 1955.1,2,3 Van Buren "V. B." Hall Jr. died on March 22, 2010 at Virginia at age 77.3 He Van Buren Hall Jr., 77, passed away on Monday, March 22, 2010. He was a lifelong resident of Franklin County and member of Redwood United Methodist Church and served his country as a member of the United States Air Force during the Korean War. Upon returning from service he was a weaver at Fieldcrest Mills and J.P. Stevens, Inc. He was superintendent with the water department for the Town of Rocky Mount until he retired, and mowing the yard was his hobby. The highlight of his life was his grandchildren. V.B. was born May 22, 1932, in Franklin County to the late Van Buren Hall Sr. and Mary Dudley Hall. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his infant brother, Wallace Hall; brother-in-law, T.W. Chitwood Jr; and sisterin-law, Peggy Love. He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Alice Sigmon Hall; son, Steven Wayne Hall (Lesley); two grandchildren, Kelsey and Colby Hall; three sisters, Betsy Ferguson (Ray), Nancy Lynch (P.L.), and Elaine Chitwood; two brothers, Nelson and William (Bill) Hall; sisters-in-law, Betty Hudson and Sue Housman; brothers-in-law, Jerry Sigmon (Patty) and Richard Sigmon; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The American Heart Association , 4217 Park Place St., Glen Allen, Va. 23060; The American Cancer Fund, 1079 Spruce Street, Martinsville, Va. 24112 or to the Redwood United Methodist Church Memorial Fund, 3001 Old Franklin Turnpike, Rocky Mount, Va. 24151. Memorial Services will be conducted 11 a.m. on Thursday, March 25, 2010, from Redwood United Methodist Church with the Rev. Brad Dulaney officiating. The family will be receiving friends one hour prior to the service at the church.
