They moved to Michigan in 1967 and then lived in New Jersey and North Carolina, and Punta Gorda, Florida, her current home. She was a homemaker. She loved her husband of 47 years and before her husband retired they traveled to many places together: Germany, France, Switzerland, Austria, Australia, Hawaii and many more. She loved her children and treated her daughter-in-law and son-in-law as if they were her own. Her grandchildren were her pride and joy, and she loved spoiling them and keeping up-to-date with the happenings in their lives. She supported their dreams and aspirations. She loved to shop and to spend time talking on the phone with friends and family. She had many friends who she treated as family, and she loved her special family friends, Beverly and Andy Hoffer of Warsaw, Indiana, and Betty and Dick Baney of Bourbon, Indiana. Surviving are her husband, William L Biller of Punta Gorda, FL; son, Stephen Lyle and his wife, Cindy (Dowdy) Biller, and their two children, Zachary William and Kristen Geneva, all of Eagle Lake, FL; daughter, Cheryl Lynn (Biller) Wells, and husband, John Mark Wells of Haines City, Florida; a brother, Wayne Myers, and his wife, Pam from Plymouth; and a stepbrother, Larry Myers. Verna had seven nieces, one nephew and several grandnieces and a grandnephew, two stepnieces and one step-nephew. She was preceded in death by her stepfather, Glen T Myers; brothers, Lyle Pittman and Gary Pittman; and one stepsister, Dixie Myers. There will be no service as Verna was cremated and her wish was to not have a funeral. A celebration of her life will be held in Punta Gorda at a later date. on July 24, 2007.²

Mr. Pittman was born on Jan. 3, 1945, in South Bend, Ind., to the late Lloyd and Elsie (Merrill) Pittman, and had lived in the LaPaz and Plymouth area all of his life. Gary was an auto mechanic. On Dec. 23, 1964, in Lakeville, Ind., he married Judy K. Hygema, who survives. He is also survived by two daughters and their husbands, Kim and Jeff Johnson, and Tania and Mike Woodrum, all of Plymouth; a son, Tony Whitmer of Florida; three grandchildren and two step-grandchildren; a sister, Verna Biller of Cary, N.C; two brothers, Wayne Myers of LaPaz and Lyle Pittman of South Bend; and by a stepbrother, Larry Myers of Lakeville. Services for Gary Lee Pittman will be at 1 p.m. on Sunday, June 21, in the Palmer Funeral Home, 314 South Michigan Street, Lakeville. Rev. David Cross of the Lakeville United Methodist Church will officiate. Burial will follow in New Oak Hill Cemetery, Plymouth. on June 20, 1998.⁴
