Mr. Cattin was very active in the Macy community, serving on the town board as president for several years. While he was on the town board, he worked hard to raise funds to build the Macy Park. He served five years as the town marshal and he served as an EMT before retiring from the Macy-Allen Township Volunteer Fire Department, where he had volunteered for many years. He was a member of the Peru Moose Lodge, the Elks, the American Legion and VFW, and the Eagles. He was a member of the National Guard, serving the United States for 12 years. A 1948 graduate of Chili High School, he was an avid outdoorsman, enjoying fishing, camping, hunting, farming and gardening. He played the accordion and he especially enjoyed polka music. He enjoyed doing carpentry work and spending time with his family. He was previously employed by the Rich Valley Elevator, Burns Construction and Schneider Transport in Green Bay, Wis. Survivors include his wife; seven sons, Dennis Cattin and wife Bev, Macy, Lloyd Lambert and wife Joan, Perrysburg, Allen Lambert, Macy, Lenny Lambert and wife Amy, Macy, Glen Cattin and wife Karen, Winamac, John Cattin and wife Vanessa, Peru, Larry Cattin and wife Tina, Perrysburg; four daughters, Edith Browning, Macy, Susan Shambarger and husband Dave, Macy, Pam Harper and fiance Dave Penicaro, Winamac, Debbie Yerk, Indianapolis; one sister, Sondra Houlihan and husband Joe, Peru; 24 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be on Thursday at 10:30 a.m. at Flowers-Leedy Funeral Home, Peru, with Pastor Al Peck officiating. Burial will be at the Roann Community Cemetery. He was preceded in death by a son, Robert A. Pennycoff. on January 19, 2000.²

     Michael Allen Fouts Michael Allen Fouts, 63, passed away Friday, June 28, 2019. Born in Peru, Indiana, Michael was the son of the late Leo and Blanche Fouts. Michael earned his bachelors degree in computer technology from ITT Tech. Michael worked as an IT Technician throughout his career and had been working for Valbruna Slater Stainless Inc. Michael enjoyed working with his hands, remodeling, making custom woodworking projects for his family and grandchildren. His hilarious personality and his storytelling will be missed. Surviving are his wife Patricia (Love) Fouts; children, Darrik (Krystal) Fouts, Dacia Rodriguez, Rita (Rogers) Bulegeya, Robert (Jacqueline) Bennett; 8 grandchildren; brother, Robert (Kathy) Fouts; half-sisters, Suzanne (Richard) Eckerley, and Judy (Larry) Esterline. Born in Peru, she was a daughter of the late William and Blanch Pennycoff. She was a member of Dunfee Missionary Church. Surviving are her husband of almost 60 years, Larry W; daughter, Lisa; sister, Suzanne (Richard) Eckerley; sister-in-law, Patti Fouts. She was also preceded in death by brothers, Bill Pennycoff and Michael Fouts.⁵ She was born on May 31, 1938 at Peru Township, Miami Co., Indiana.^4,6 As of circa 1960,her married name was Esterline.⁵ She married Larry William Esterline circa 1960.^7,8,5 Judith Ann "Judy" Pennycoff died on July 23, 2020 at Indiana at age 82.^6,5
