She was a member of Black Branch Baptist Church in Chase City, owner of Newby’s Trailer Court for 22 years, and a Beautician. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Dick Newby; special friend, William Dix; brother, William David Wallace; sister, Pauline Light; and step-son, Willard Newby. Mary is survived by her son, William “Danny” Aye (Brenda Stallings) of Chase City, VA; step-son, Harold Newby (Louise) of Smith Mountain Lake, VA; two granddaughters, Chelsea Aye Hilsinger (Steve) and Vanessa Aye Williams (Brian); and four great-grandchildren, Kourtney Allgood Smith (Grant), Greyson Hilsinger, Gavin Evans, and Cameron Evans. Mary’s family would like to give a special thank you to her devoted caregivers, Shirley Newton and Helen Pulliam. He is survived by his wife, Rita Newby; and two sons, Willard Newby Jr. of Farmville, Va. and Sean Newby of Conway, S.C. His stepmother, Mary Newby; a brother, Harold Newby of Smith Mountain Lake; and a half-brother, Daniel Aye of Chase City, Va. Also several stepsons, stepdaughters, grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. He will be greatly missed by all, including his constant companion, Peaches, his little Maltese dog. on December 23, 2007.6
