     Lois Yvonne Dean Lois Yvonne Poling, age 86, of Buckhannon, WV, died Monday, September 27, 2021, at Holbrook Health Care in Buckhannon. She was born June 29, 1935, in Upshur County, WV, a daughter of the late John and Eulah Sturm Dean. On April 27, 1957, she married Robert Lee Poling who preceded her in death on March 13, 2013. She is survived by two sons, Holt Poling and wife Mary Alice of Buckhannon and J.D. Poling and wife Stella of Weston, WV; one daughter, Amy Toothman and husband Danny of Fairmont, WV; one granddaughter, Brittany Danielle Alden and husband Matt of Salem, WV; six grandsons, Cory Seth Poling and wife Erika of Morgantown, WV, Robert C. Poling and wife Kendra of Buckhannon, Ean Shae DeBarr of Fairmont, WV, Eric Sherrard and wife Sarah and Ryan Sherrard and wife Nathasha all of Weston and Daniel Toothman of Clarksburg, WV; three great-granddaughters, April Sherrard of Weston, Olivia Poling of Buckhannon and Etta Alden of Salem; eight great-grandsons, Zach, Arron and Wesley Sherrard all of Weston, Gunner Poling of Buckhannon, Liam and Bayler Poling both of Morgantown, WV, Calvin Alden of Salem and Acen Sherrard of Weston; one brother, John C. Dean and wife Sue of Buckhannon and several nieces and nephews. Mrs. Poling was a homemaker. She was a member of the Mt. Hermon United Methodist Church for over 86 years. She was a former telephone operator for the City of Buckhannon, a Deputy County Clerk, twice and she worked at the Central Bank as a Bookkeeper. Mrs. Poling was a fabulous pianist. She loved to watch Brittany, Seth and Robert play ball, she was an AVID boisterous fan and Grandma. She loved to watch WVU Football and the Dallas Cowboys. A Public Graveside Service will be held 11 AM Friday, October 8, 2021, at the Mt. Hermon Church Cemetery in Buckhannon, WV with the Rev. Jack Bohman officiating.2 She was buried at Mount Herman United Methodist Church Cemetery, Buckhannon, Upshur Co., West Virginia.2,6 She was born on June 29, 1935 at Upshur Co., West Virginia.1,2,6 As of April 27, 1957,her married name was Poling.1 She married Rev.      Rev. Robert Lee "Bob" Poling Rev. Robert “Bob” Lee Poling, age 81, of Buckhannon, WV, died Wednesday, March 13, 2013 at Serenity Care Home in Buckhannon. He was born February 8, 1932 in Cubana, WV, a son of the late Herbert and Hazel Simmons Poling. On April 27, 1957 he married Lois Yvonne Dean who survives. In addition to his wife he is survived by two sons, Robert Holt Poling and wife Mary Alice of Buckhannon and J.D. Poling and wife Stella of Weston, WV; one daughter, Amy Toothman and husband Daniel of Fairmont, WV; one granddaughter, Brittany Danielle Poling and special friend Matt Alden of Bridgeport, WV; six grandsons, Cory Seth Poling of Morgantown, WV, Robert C. Poling and fiancée Kendra Bowen of Buckhannon, Ean Shae DeBarr of Fairmont, Daniel Toothman Jr. of Salem, WV, Eric Sherrard and wife Sarah and Ryan Sherrard and fiancée Lori Suttle all of Weston; one great granddaughter, April Sherrard of Weston; three great grandsons, Zach, Aaron and Wesley Sherrard all of Weston; three brothers, Lawrence Poling and wife Doris of Warren, OH, Arden Poling of Barberton, OH and Archie Poling and wife Renna of Buckhannon; three sisters, Wilda Slaughter of Buckhannon, Lucille Gillespie of Niles, OH and Freeda Murphy and husband Jim of Morgantown; one sister-in-law, Kathy Poling of Buckhannon; one brother-in-law, John C. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by three brothers, Wilmer, Howard and Elmer Poling; one sister, Kathleen Bailey; several nieces and nephews and a great niece and great nephew. Rev. Poling served in the U.S. Army from 1952-1954 during the Korean War. He was a member of the Sand Run Baptist Church in Buckhannon and he attended the Mt. Hermon United Methodist Church in Buckhannon. He was a former member of the Kesling Mill Lions Club. He graduated from the University of Hard Knocks in 1998, was a Lay Speaker for the Frenchton United Methodist Charge for nine months and was a full time Baptist Minister for 42 years. He retired from Moore Business Forms in 1990. He loved his wife, children, grandchildren, his dogs Scooter, Chloe and Macie, hunting, WVU football and basketball, his many Christian friends and most of all the Lord for whom he continually served, ministered and witnessed until his last few hours. Burial will follow in the Mt.      John David Dean was buried at Mount Herman United Methodist Church Cemetery, Buckhannon, Upshur Co., West Virginia.1 He was born on December 29, 1971 at Buckhannon, Upshur Co., West Virginia.1 He died on July 24, 1994 at Morgantown, Monongalia Co., West Virginia, at age 22.1 He BUCKHANON - A man visiting relatives in Upshur County died Sunday following a single-car accident. John D. Dean, 22, whose address was listed as Travis Air Force Base, Calif., was visiting his mother in the Buckhannon area and died in a Morgantown hospital, said Trooper W.D. Bennett of the state police Buckhanon detachment. Dean was driving a 1991 Ford about 1:35 a.m. Sunday on Hall Road, just outside Buckhannon, when he lost control, sending it more than 140 feet off the road and into an apple tree, said Bennett. Dean was ejected from the car. He was taken to St. Joseph's Hospital, Buckhannon, then transported to Ruby Memorial Hospital, Morgantown, where he died about 11:20 p.m., Bennett said. on July 26, 1994.2

He had been in declining health since September 2005. He was born Saturday, Sept. 23, 1933, at Elkins, a son of the late George Lewis Calain Sr. and Estie Marie Tingler Calain. On Sept. 5, 1959, at East Dailey, he was married to the former Eliza Norah Shaver, who survives. Also surviving are one son, John Martin Calain of Elkins, two daughters, Kelly LeNae Channell and husband, Denver, and Lisa Marie Comer, all of East Dailey; four brothers, Walter D. Calain and wife, Sharon, and Randolph G. Calain, all of Louisville, Ky., Donald R. Calain and Harold L. Calain and wife, Sue, all of Elkins; two sisters, Janet F. Baldassano and husband, Paul, and Linda L. Vance and husband, John, all of Elkins; seven grandchildren, Joel, Aaron, Deirdre, Catrina, Paige, Alyssa, and Logan; one stepgranddaughter, Britney Barlow; and several nieces and nephews. Preceding him in death besides his parents were one infant son, John Edward Calain; and two brothers, George Lewis Calain Jr. and Eli Montgomery Calain. He attended the Chestnut Grove School at Bowden, Elkins High School and served with the U.S. Air Force as an airman first class during the Cold War. He was a welder for Bethlehem Steel and AIRCO welding of Baltimore, Md. He was a former welder for the Western Maryland Railroad and owned and operated Calain's Welding Service, from which he retired. He welded the first goalpost and backstop at the Tygart Valley High School, had coached the first Labcraft Little League baseball team and was a past president of the athletic boosters club at Tygart Valley. He was an avid gardener, and his grandchildren were the love of his life. Mr. Calain's request for cremation was honored. A memorial service will be conducted Saturday, April 8, at 2 p.m. at the Faith Baptist Church at Beverly. The Rev. J. Michael Allen and Sister Mary Ella Morrison will officiate. on April 6, 2006.2
