Mrs. Hackworth was a member of Wildhurst Presbyterian Church and was employed by Grants Department store and the N.W. Pugh Company. Survivors include her daughters and son-in-law, Gail H. Moore and husband, Percy, and Yvonne H. Williams; grandchildren, Susan Williams, Billy Williams and wife, Pam, Kim M. Bibbs, Tom Bibbs, all of Roanoke, Tommy Moore and wife, Nataly, of Hoboken, N.J; great- grandchildren, Elise Kitts, Lance and Hannah Bibbs; and numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral Services will be held at noon on Saturday, May 26, 2012, at Oakey's South Chapel with Pastor William M. Harris Jr. officiating. Interment will follow in Sherwood Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 2 to 5 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday, May 25, 2012, at Oakey's South Chapel. The family would like to thank the staff of 2 East at Richfield Recovery and Care Center, especially Sharon Leftwich, for their on May 25, 2012.6

He is survived by his wife, Bessie Lee Cabaniss Forgie of Clifton Forge; three daughters, Lori Beamer of Thornton, Colo., Charlotte Cook of Forest, and Shelby Cook of Madison; three sons, Eric Forsyth of Bemidji, Minn., Dwaine Forsyth of Pearl City, Hawaii, and Robert Edward Cook of Richmond; his four step children, Kenneth Almond and wife, Jeanie, of Vinton, Cindy Abbott and husband, Glenn, of Columbia, S.C., James Almond and wife, Brenda, of Roanoke, and Pamela Abshire and husband, Daniel, of Roanoke; four sisters, Nancy Rowles of Lynchburg, Mary Sue Millard and husband, Bob, of Salt Lake City, Utah, Iva Mae Heisler and husband, Marvin, of Chattanooga, Tenn., and Ruby Cox and husband, Darrell, of Chattanooga, Tenn; two brothers, Raymond Forgie and wife, Anna Mae, of Roanoke, and David Forgie and wife, Barbara, of Richmond; nine grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be conducted 11 a.m. on Friday, March 6, 2009, in the chapel of Nicely Funeral Home, Clifton Forge with the Reverend Edith Snedegar and the Reverend J. Glenn Linthicum officiating. Interment will follow at 2 p.m. in Walnut Grove Union Church Cemetery in Montvale.
