Sorrell Carte; sons, Jackson Lee Jr. of Elmwood, Tenn., Daniel and Andy, both of Fayetteville; daughters, Betty Jean Bailes, Zenda Vance and Danita Young, all of Fayetteville, Barbara Crews of Prosperity, Nancy Nichols of Oak Hill, Rosella Knight of M ontgomery; sisters, Marion Carte of Hico, Maxine Sorrell of Fayetteville; 13 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren. Service will be 2 p.m. Sunday at Dodd-Payne-Hess Funeral Home, Fayetteville, with the Rev. Robert Mattox officiating. Burial will be in Huse Memorial Park, with military graveside rites conducted by Oak Hill VFW Post 3110. Friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home. in Beckley Appalachian Regional Hospital after a long illness. He was a 15-year resident of Lookout, a member of Kesler Memorial Presbyterian Church, Clifty, a disabled coal miner. Surviving: wife, Nellie; daughters, Mrs. Judy Horrocks of Lansing and Miss Jean Caldwell of Charleston; sons, James of Mount Nebo and Darrell of Lookout; sister, Mrs. Flossie Crist of Clifty; brothers, John of Alexandria, Va. and Dave of Summersville, Randall of Indianapolis, Ind. and Willis of Tallahassee, Fla; four grandchildren. Service will be 2 p.m. Monday in Kesler Memorial Presbyterian Church with the Rev. William Seacrist and the Rev. Lesley Martin officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. The body is at Wallace-Wallace Funeral Home, Ansted, where friends may call after 3 p.m. today and will be taken to the church one hour before the service. on February 3, 1974.2
