He was preceded in death by his wife, Juanita Lacks on November 16, 2003; paternal grandfather, Robert "Nandaddy" Lacks; maternal grandparents, John and Delphia Sarver. Survivors include his very loved daughters, Faith and Angelica; loving and devoted mother, Shelia Lacks Hagy; very special father, Roy N. Lacks, Sr. and wife, Karen; very loved grandmother, Lizzie "Nanny" Lacks; devoted and special sister, Tammie "Sissy" Frate and husband, Tom; special nephew, Nathan; sister, Rhonda Finney and husband, David; niece and nephew, Kayla and Darrius; sister, Elizabeth Scott and husband, Timmy; baby sister, Kimberly Hagy; three brothers, Jonathan, Robert "Bubba", and Toby Lacks; sister-in-law and friend, Pandora Wolfe; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and wonderful friends including best friend, Greg Muncey and his son, Gregory Jr; his beloved pets, Dreamer, Wallaby, and Cally. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, January 7, 2004, at 2 p.m. at the Buchanan Chapel of Botetourt Funeral Home with Rev. Elmer D. Clemons and Chaplain Marvin Barbre officiating. Interment will follow in Troutville Cemetery. The family will receive friends Tuesday from 6 to 9 p.m. at Botetourt Funeral Home, 14920 Lee Highway, Buchan. on January 6, 2004.²

     Juanita Louise Carder was buried at Troutville Cemetery, Troutville, Botetourt Co., Virginia.² She was born on May 5, 1959 at Lexington, Rockbridge Co., Virginia.^3,1 As of June 10, 2003,her married name was Lacks.¹ She married Roy Nathan Lacks Jr., son of Roy Nathan Lacks Sr. and Shelia Sarver, on June 10, 2003.^4,1 Juanita Louise Carder died on November 16, 2003 at Troutville, Botetourt Co., Virginia, at age 44.^4,1,3 She Juanita Louise Lacks, 44, of Troutville, died Sunday, November 16, 2003 at her residence. Born May 5, 1959 in Lexington, Va., she was the daughter of the late Roland Edward Thornton and Wylene Carder. She married Roy Nathan Lacks, Jr. on June 10, 2003. Juanita was employed as a cook for the Brian Center Nursing Home. Mrs. Lacks was preceded in death by her father and by a nephew, Christopher Thornton. She is survived by her mother, Wylene Carder of Covington and husband, Roy N. Lacks, Jr; a daughter and son-in-law, Lori and Tony Spence; two sisters, Pandora and husband Wayne Wright and Doris and husband Russell Paxton; and her grandson, Terrell Thornton, all of Troutville; and a special nephew, C. J. Thornton. Also surviving are her mother-in-law, Sheila Hagy of Roanoke; her father-in-law, Roy Lacks, Sr. and wife Karen; and grandmother-in-law, Lizzie Lacks all of Troutville; and numerous nieces and nephews. A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, November 19, 2003 at Rader Funeral Home from 6 to 8 p.m. In lieu of flowers the family requests memorial donations to Good Samaritan Hospice, 3825-A Electric Rd. SW, Roanoke, Va. 24018. on November 18, 2003.¹

     Frances Marie Crawford was buried at Sigmon-Myers Family Cemetery, Franklin Co., Virginia.¹ She was born on May 22, 1931.³ As of circa 1949,her married name was Myers.¹ She married James Lewis "Jim" Myers, son of John Lewis Myers and Irene "Rena" Crowder, circa 1949.¹ Frances Marie Crawford died on January 13, 2006 at Virginia at age 74.^3,1 She Frances Crawford Myers, 74, of Ferrum, went to be with the Lord Friday, January 13, 2006. She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother and will be missed very much. She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Florence Crawford; one son, James Linford Myers; and one grandson, Brad Myers. She is survived by her loving husband of fifty-seven years, James Lewis Myers; her children and their spouses, Peggy and Clarence Marsden, Steven and Deborah Myers, Richard and Teresa Gail Myers, Gerald Lee, Sr. and Arlene Myers, Kaye and Rodney Sigmon; grandchildren, Larry Sink, Jr., Melissa Cervone, Billy Kidd, Jimmy Kidd, Renee and Blaine Compton, Melissa and Mark Jones, James, Jr. and Cinimon Myers, Crystal and David Hockenbery, Brandy and Donald Thompson, Jennifer Rigney, Sherry Myers and special friend, Roy Lynch, Amy Nicole Myers and special friend, Jeff Fain, Ashley Elizabeth Myers, Gerald Lee Jr. and Bonnie Myers, Jessica Myers and special friend, Gary Hall, Chris Fitzgerald, Heather Cook and special friend, Adam Cecil, and Mackenzie Sigmon; twelve great-grandchildren; brothers, Alfred Crawford and wife Betty, and Kenneth Crawford and wife Kathy. Interment will follow in the family cemetery. on January 15, 2006.¹

     James Linford Myers Sr. was buried at Iva City Cemetery, Iva, Anderson Co., South Carolina.⁴ He married Ann Sanders.⁴ James Linford Myers Sr. was born in 1947 at Botetourt Co., Virginia.^3,5 He died on January 11, 1975 at South Carolina.⁴ He James "Jimmie" Myers 27, of Iva, died Saturday. Born in Virginia, son of James Lewis and Frances Crawford Myers, of Glade Hill, he was a textile employe of Abney Mills and a Baptist. Surviving also are his wife, Mrs. Ann Sanders Myers; a son, Jimmie Myers Jr. of the home; three daughters, Miss Renee Myers, Miss Melissa Myers and Miss Crystal Myers of the home; three brothers, Steve, Richard and Gerald Myers of Glade Hill; two sisters, Mrs. Peggy Kidd of Orlando, Fla. and Miss Kaye Myers of Glade Hill. Burial in Iva City Cemetery. on January 12, 1975.⁴

He is preceded in death by his mother Frances Marie Myers and father James Lewis Myers and his son Richard Bradley Myers. He is survived by his wife of 34 years Teresa Gail Myers, his daughters Ashley Myers (Austin) and Amy Hall, his special son-in-law and go getter Henry Hall, two precious grandsons, Logan and Ethan Hall, his brothers, Gearld Myers (Beannie) and Steve Myers (Debbie), sister, Kaye Sigmon (Rodney) and sister Peggy; his mother-in-law, Louise Cole, brother-in-law, Calvin Cole, sister-in-law, Betty Rose; and special friends, Anthony and Steven Stanley. Graveside services will be conducted at Mountain View Memorial Park.⁴ He was buried at Mountain View Memorial Park (also known as Mountain View Burial Park), 5970 Grassy Hill Road, Boones Mill, Franklin Co., Virginia.⁴ He was born on June 23, 1960 at Roanoke, Virginia.^2,3,4 He married Teresa Gail Cole on May 26, 1984 at Franklin Co., Virginia.² Richard Allen Myers died on April 28, 2018 at Virginia at age 57.⁴
