He was a veteran of the United States Navy serving in the Korean War. Surviving are his wife, Nancy Owen Dalton, of Moneta; son, Michael Dalton and wife, Trish, of Tennessee; three daughters, Debra Tyree and husband, Ron, of Moneta, Julie Maness and husband, Bert, of Roanoke, and Jennifer Fenster and husband, Mike, of Florida; eight grandchildren; three stepchildren; seven step grandchildren; five sisters, Louise Sowers, of Troutville, Helen Courtney and husband, Pete, of North Carolina, Arlene Bowling and husband, Buster, of Florida, Ruth Evans and husband, Lenny, of Georgia, and Sylvia Davis, of Roanoke County; and lots of nieces, nephews, friends and family. Funeral Services will be conducted 11 a.m. on Monday, November 1, 2010, at Lotz Vinton Chapel with the Rev. Jerry Naff officiating. Interment will follow in Cedar Lawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends on Sunday, October 31, 2010, from 2 to 4 p.m. and from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home. Arrangements by Lotz Funeral Home, Vinton Chapel. on October 30, 2010.2

Special thanks to Good Samaritan Hospice, especially Gloria, Judy, Peg and Bill. Funeral services will be conducted at Lotz Roanoke Chapel, 12:30 p.m. Saturday, November 30, 1996, with Dr. William E. Baker officiating. Interment in Cedar Lawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at Lotz Roanoke Chapel from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday. on November 29, 1996.2
