She was born October 23, 1914 in Lynchburg and was the oldest daughter of the late Carrie Smith Jones and William Stratton Jones. Most of her life was spent in Altavista, married to Arnett L. Yeatts for 59 years before he preceded her in death. She worked for the family business, Yeatts Transfer Company, for many years before retiring. She was also a member of Lane Memorial United Methodist Church where she was involved with various outreach organizations, active in local bridge clubs, and was a long standing member of the Col. Charles Lynch Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution. Mrs. Yeatts was preceded in death by her sisters, Sally J. Capps and Evelyn Cox; and brothers, William Stratton Jones, Jr. and Frank G. Jones. She is survived by her three daughters and their families, Carolyn Y. Coleman, her husband G. Frank Coleman of Lynchburg and their children, Rev. Dr. George F. Spike Coleman, Jr. of Charleston, SC, Jonathan D. Coleman and his wife Cheryl and their children, Lauren K. and Abigail E. Coleman of Cary, NC, and Elizabeth L. Coleman of Lynchburg, daughter, Margaret Y. Bowling and her husband Dr. E. Noel Bowling of Altavista and their children, E. Noel (Rusty) Bowling of Petersburg, VA and Laura B. Mensch and her husband Blake, their children, Carly E. and Joshua L. Mensch of Greensboro, NC, daughter, Anne Leighton Yeatts and her partner, Alice Peretti of Gainesville, VA; a sister, Margaret J. Pedersen of Pueblo, Colorado; sister-in-laws Phyllis M. Jones and Lynda Y. Slocum of Lynchburg and Charlotte Y. Weathers of Roanoke Rapids, NC. Also surviving is a number of loved nieces and nephews.
