Born August 28, 1925 at Longbottom, she was the daughter of the late Jesse B. & Sadie Spencer Jeffries. Georgia was a former employee of the G.C. Murphy Co. in Mullens and Hinton. She was a weather-watcher in Hinton for WVVA Channel 6 in Bluefield for 13 years. She was a member of Riverview Chapel in Hinton, and had lived most of her life in Hinton. She was preceded in death by her husband, Lloyd Raymond Surface in 1997. Also preceded by a stillborn infant daughter, Judith Marie Surface. One brother, Jack W. Jeffries Sr. & his wife Janie Hodge Jeffries, both in 1998. Survivors include one brother, James F. Jeffries, Sr. & wife Carol of Fayetteville, WV. Numerous nieces & nephews, including a nephew whom she raised, Bill Jeffries & wife Patty of Hinton, and a great niece whom she raised, Jackie Jeffries of Hinton. Her favorite canine companion, Sugar.
