Gerald Ray Gibbons After a long illness, Gerald Ray Gibbons passed away on Saturday at the age of 49. He was a native of Washington state and graduated from North Mason High School in Belfair. He was born July 16, 1962 in Bremerton. He was pre-deceased by his mother, Sharon Gibbons, and his infant brother, Gordon. He is survived by his father, Douglas Gibbons; his brothers, Gary and Tom; his daughter, Reanna; and family members who live as nearby as Bremerton and Spokane, and as far away as Arizona, North Carolina, and Argentina. Gerald (called Ray by his father) is also survived by his beloved companion, Shadow, a sweet-natured cat he rescued more than 17 years ago. He was a kind-hearted and generous man who loved animals and the outdoors. A fine fisherman and carpenter, he spent many years working in the forest industry. He also enjoyed collecting chanterelle mushrooms that he would then add to his famous spaghetti sauce with bite-sized meatballs. He preferred cooking from scratch and loved to barbecue ribs and chicken and salmon, and bake banana bread, and brew blueberry beer and wine. Gerald's presence was larger than life, and he will be deeply missed by all those who knew and loved him.2 He was buried at Twin Firs Cemetery, 700 NE Sand Hill Road, Belfair, Mason Co., Washington.3 He was born on July 16, 1962 at Bremerton, Kitsap Co., Washington.3 He died on February 25, 2012 at Marysville, Snohomish Co., Washington, at age 49.1,3
