Harvel on April 2, 1903. They came to Buchanan 22 years ago. Mrs. Harvel was a member of the Jonesville Methodist church. Surviving are her husband, two sons, James Harvel of route 1, Buchanan, and Benjamin Harvel, who is stationed with the Army medical corps at Percy Jones hospital at Battle Creek; a daughter, Mrs. Carl Runyan of Buchanan; and a brother, James Hines of Jonesville. Funeral arrangements are incomplete. The body is resting at the Swem funeral home. on July 6, 1948.5 She died on July 6, 1948 at Buchanan, Berrien Co., Michigan, at age 63.2,3,5

A Iifelong resident of Lee County, Va., he was a retired merchant and a member of Pleasant Hill United Methodist Church of Jonesville. He had also been a member of Preston Lodge No. 47 A.F. & A.M for 64 years, and was a member of the Powell Valley Shriners. He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Cornia Hines; four brothers, Rando, Paris, Otis and Harry Hines; and five sisters, Mollie, Viola, Ruby, Myrtle, and Hattie Mae. Survivors include his wife of 68 years, Virginia Hines of Jonesville; four sons and daughters-in-law, Lee and Helen Hines of Nashville, N.C., Dennis and Sue Hines of Jonesville, Harold and Barbara Hines of Jonesville, Larry and Nancy Hines of Jonesville; one daughter, Jeanette Hartley of Morriston, Fla; 12 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren. Masonic services will be conducted at 8 p.m. Friday at Arney-Mullins Funeral Home, Jonesville Chapel, and will be followed by funeral services with the Rev. Layne Pennington officiating. Graveside services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday in the Woodward Cemetery, Jonesville. Those wishing to attend the graveside service are asked to meet at the funeral home at 10 a.m. Saturday to proceed to the cemetery. His grandsons will serve as pallbearers. on February 3, 2005.7

Hines, 91, passed away Thursday (September 3, 2009) at the Lee Nursing and Rehab Center in Pennington Gap, Virginia. She lived in Lee County, Virginia for most of her life and was a member of Pleasant Hill United Methodist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Edgar Lee (Ed) Hines; her parents, Bedford and Lucy Wolfenbarger Pendleton; two sisters, Bannie and Estelle; and four brothers, Vergis, Morriston, Jack, and Jimmy. Surviving are four sons & daughters-in-law: Lee and Helen Hines of Nashville, North Carolina; Dennis and Sue Hines of Jonesville, Virginia; Harold and Barbara Hines of Jonesville, Virginia; Larry and Nancy Hines of Jonesville, Virginia; one daughter: Jeanette Hartley of Morriston, Florida; 12 grandchildren, several great-grandchildren; several great grandchildren; two brothers: Charles Pendleton of Columbus, Ohio; Bill Pendleton of Mentor, Ohio; one sister: Maurice Hobbs of Brownstown, Indiana. The family received friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the Arney-Mullins Funeral Home in Jonesville, Virginia. Funeral services were conducted at 8 p.m. Sunday in the funeral home chapel with the Rev. Layne Pennington and the Rev. Betty Marshall officiating. Graveside services were conducted at 11 a.m. Monday in the Bethel Cemetery in Jonesville, Virginia. on September 8, 2009.1

     Larry Neil Hines was buried at Wynn Cemetery, Lee Co., Virginia.2,5 He Larry Neil Hines, 71, of Jonesville, VA passed away on Saturday, July 16, 2016. A lifelong resident of Lee County, he was born May 11, 1945 to the late Ed and Virginia Pendleton Hines. In 1975, Larry became an Auctioneer and in 1987 he opened Hines Real Estate and Auction Company which he was still actively involved in. During that time he also operated Lee Tractor for 38 years. He had been a farmer all of his life and had served with the Army National Guard for 7 years. Larry was a 50 year member of the Jonesville First United Methodist Church. He was also an active member of the Jonesville Lions Club and was nearly a 50 year Mason in Preston Lodge No.47 AF&AM. He is survived by his wife, Nancy Hines; son, Todd Hines and wife Missy; two grandchildren, Taylor Hines and Ashley Duncan and husband Matt; sister, Jeanette Hartley; three brothers, Lee, Dennis and Harold Hines; and many beloved friends including his church family, golfing buddies, and current and former employees. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, July 19, at First United Methodist Church in Jonesville with Rev. Layne Pennington officiating. The family will receive friends immediately thereafter. The graveside service will follow in the Wynn-Wygal Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Tom Cochran, Matthew Duncan, Chad Hines, Harold Hines Jr., Taylor Hines, Alan Ingle and Justin Moore. Honorary pallbearers will be Bill Clawson, Carl Orr and Wayne Shubert.5 He was born on May 11, 1945 at Jonesville, Lee Co., Virginia.2,3,4,5 He married Nancy Jean Barry on July 25, 1965 at Jonesville, Lee Co., Virginia.3 Larry Neil Hines died on July 16, 2016 at age 71.2,5
