     Mary Jo Miller was buried at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens, 5737 Airport Road NW, Roanoke, Virginia.³ She was born on July 14, 1932 at Chilhowie, Smyth Co., Virginia.^1,2,4 As of May 1, 1951,her married name was Purdy.¹ She married Paul Lorton Purdy, son of Kyle Huston Purdy Sr. and Dora Mattie Sigmon, on May 1, 1951 at Roanoke, Virginia.¹ Mary Jo Miller and Paul Lorton Purdy were divorced on February 22, 1968 at Roanoke, Virginia.² Mary Jo Miller died on March 2, 2014 at Roanoke, Virginia, at age 81.^3,4 She Mary Jo Miller VanCleaf, 81, of Roanoke, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, March 2, 2014. She was a member of Melrose Baptist Church and was retired from Travelers Insurance Company. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ogden W. VanCleaf; parents, Leon and Ruby Miller; and brother, Crockford (Chuck) Miller. She is survived by her daughter, Carolyn P. Tucker; son, Michael L. Purdy; grandson, Brian S. Tucker; great-grandsons, Isaac S. Tucker and Caleb K. Tucker; and cousins, Mary Lois Moore and Ann Berlin. Funeral Services will be held at noon on Thursday, March 6, 2014, at Oakey's North Chapel with the Rev. Larry Sprouse officiating. The interment will follow in Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens. The family will be receiving friends on Wednesday, March 5, 2014, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Oakey's North Chapel.      Martha Josephine Jane Vaughan was buried at Evergreen Burial Park, 1307 Summit Ave SW, Roanoke, Virginia.² She was born on March 22, 1923 at Toms, West Virginia.^1,2,3 As of May 6, 1979,her married name was Purdy.¹ She married Paul Lorton Purdy, son of Kyle Huston Purdy Sr. and Dora Mattie Sigmon, on May 6, 1979 at Roanoke, Virginia.^1,4,2 Martha Josephine Jane Vaughan died on June 4, 2009 at Roanoke Co., Virginia, at age 86.^2,3,5 She Jane Vaughan Purdy, formerly of Salem, Va., passed away on Thursday, June 4, 2009. Born Martha Josephine Jane Vaughan on March 22, 1923, in Toms, W.Va., she was the daughter of the late Victor Lomax Vaughan Sr. and Veleta Martha Fisher Vaughan. Jane was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Paul Lorton Purdy. She attended Concord College and National Business College, served in the WAVES during World War II and was retired from Appalachian Electric Power Company with 38 years of service. Jane is survived by a brother, Victor Lomax (Max) Vaughan Jr; children, Carolyn Sue Purdy Tucker and Michael Lorton Purdy; grandson, Brian Scott Tucker and wife, Sherinda "Dolly" Tucker; two great-grandsons, Isaac Scott Tucker and Caleb Kyle Tucker; three sisters-in-law, Melba June Purdy Dwease, Velva Jean Purdy Martin and Shirley Purdy Thomas; many nieces and nephews; and two special friends, Lenora P. Graham and Eva K. Longworth. The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 p.m. and from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, June 5, 2009, at the funeral home. Graveside funeral services will be held 1 p.m. on Saturday, June 6, 2009, at Evergreen Burial Park with the Rev. C. Anthony Ward officiating. on June 6, 2009.²
