He is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Addilene Via Elmore; daughter and son-in-law, Sharon and Tom Gregory of Deltona, Fla; son and daughter-in-law, Steven P. and Darlene Elmore of Charleston; sisters, Helen Elmore of Elkview, W.Va., and Opal Warner of Gainesville, Fla; two grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. Funeral Service will be 1 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 22, at Cane, Point Pleasaof aan Missionary Baptist Church, Charleston with the Rev. James Warden and the Rev. Bill Guthrie officiating. Burial will follow in the Wheeler-Via Cemetery, Newhouse Drive, Charleston. on February 21, 2003.3

He was 70. Mr. Elmore was born in Amma, Va. He came to Brevard County 1961 from Elkview, W. Va. "He came (to Brevard County) because there was more opportunity," said his daughter, Cathy Smith of West Melbourne. "He worked at Boeing until the big layoff in 1969. He was a finish carpenter by trade. When he worked at Boeing he was a carpenter and in general maintenance." Mr. Elmore worked for 22 years for the Brevard County School District as a maintenance supervisor. He enjoyed woodworking. "He would build things for churches and friends. He was very knowledgable in woodcrafting," his daughter said. Mr. Elmore was a member of the 32nd Degree Mason Lodge No. 143, Melbourne Azan Temple, Scottish Rite of Orlando and the South Brevard Scottish Rite. He was an Army veteran of the Korean War. Mr. Elmore's other hobbies included hunting and fishing. "Dad would fish and hunt up north. He said the animals down here (in the south) were too small to kill," his daughter said. "He was also a ham radio operator," she said. Mr. Elmore was a member of the Indian River Amateur Radio Club. Other survivors include his wife, Ruby Elmore of Melbourne; son, Larry Elmore of Rockledge; sisters, Helen Elmore of Elkview and Opal Warner of Gainesville; brother, Paul Elmore of Charleston, W. Va; and three grandchildren. Calling hours will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at Florida Memorial Funeral Home, north of Melbourne. Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Burial will be at Florida Memorial Gardens. on April 9, 2000.4

Elmore, 82, of Charleston, went to Heaven on Nov. 3, 2007. Addilene was born to Willis G. Via and Ora Lee (Wheeler) Via on Nov. 19, 1924. She lived her entire life in Kanawha County. She was preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, Paul Elmore. Addilene leaves behind her daughter, Sharon (Tom) Gregory of Deltona, Fla; son, Steven P. (Darlene) Elmore of Charleston; grandchildren, Christenna (Jon) Bailey of South Charleston, and Steven R. (Jera) Elmore of Somerville, S.C. She also leaves behind two sisters, Jessie Raynes of Nitro, and Clara Ann Sigmon of California, and brothers, George Thomas Via of Virginia and Ernest Via of California. Addilene loved her Lord and lived many years serving Jesus. She was a long time member of Canaan Baptist Church, Charleston, where she loved her church family. She was a wonderful mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who enjoyed preparing large family meals at holiday time. She appreciated the beauty of God's creation and loved nature. She was an avid gardener most of her life and spent many summers canning nature's bounty. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her, yet we know our loss is Heaven's gain. She asked that we not mourn her death, but rejoice in her victory. The family would like to give a special "thank you" to the Hospice Care Unit, who helped them through this difficult time, and suggests donations to Kanawha Hospice, 1143 Dunbar Ave., Dunbar, WV 25064 in Addilene's name in lieu of flowers. A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, Nov. 5, at Canaan Baptist Church, 1919 Bigley Ave., Charleston, with the Rev. Bill Guthrie and the Rev. James Warden officiating. Burial will follow in Wheeler-Via Cemetery, Newhouse Drive, Charleston. on November 4, 2007.3
