In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her sons, Raymond, Richard, Carl and Donald; brothers, Leroy, John, Robert, George Jr., Wilford and Dean; and sister, Goldie Cousins. He was a World War II veteran of the Army Air Corps. He was a life member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 470 where he belonged to the Ritual Team. Mr. Ion and his wife, Betty Jane Dunham, celebrated their 31st wedding anniversary last November. In addition to his widow, survivors include his mother, Ida Dolby Ion, Kittanning; two daughters, Mary Ion Delp and Ida Diane Ion, both of Erie; three sons, John Jr., William P. and Bradley E., all of Erie; three sisters; and five brothers. Friends may call at W. James Scott Funeral Home, W. 21st and Myrtle, today from 2 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. A service will be at the funeral home Saturday at 10 a.m. with the Rev. W. Martin Peterhaensel of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church officiating. Burial with full military honors by the members of VFW Post 470 will be in Erie County Memorial Gardens Cemetery. on June 18, 1982.2

At the time of the automobile accident, he was on the janitorial staff of the U.S. Postal Service in Karns City and was employed by the Atlantic Cleaning CO. in Butler. He is survived by his wife, the former Joan Cousins whom he married in Winchester, Va; three sons, George Kay Ion of Portland Ore., the Rev. Alan J. Ion of Rimersburg R.D. 2, and the Rev. Tracy Joe Ion of Herminston, Ore; one daughter, Sonya Joett Ion at home; five grand-children; three brothers, Wilferd Ion of Florida, Ellwood Ion of Cowansville, R.D. 1, and Dalton Ion of Ford Cliff; three sisters, Mrs. Harry (May) Belle of Hartman, Fla., Mrs. Anthony (Thelma) Petras of Ford City, and Mrs. Charles (Goldie) Cousins of Cowansville R.D. 1; and a number of nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by three brothers. ION-Friends of Georg Junior Ion of Karns City, who died Thursday Nov. 7, 1991, will be received from 8 to 9:30 p.m. today and from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. on Saturday at the Church of God of Prophecy in Karns City. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday from the church with the Rev. Ronald Roudebush pastor, the Rev. Edward C. McCollough, Bishop, Robert H. Bradley, state overseer of the Church of God of prophecy of Pennsylvania and Deacon Virgil Cousins. Burial will follow in Oak Grove Cemetery in Chicora, arrangements by Hillis. on November 8, 1991.2

Frank enjoyed taking his wife to Atlantic City, camp, boating with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He also enjoyed traveling to Niagara Falls, playing Texas Hold’em, and spending time with his family. He is survived by his daughters, Debra Smith, Shelly Greene, and Catherine Cousins; eight grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and numerous brothers, sisters, and family members. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Peggy Ann (Waugaman) Cousins, whom he married Dec. 11, 1967; and several brothers and sisters. Friends will be received from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 27, 2017, at the Snyder-Crissman Funeral Home, 200 S. McKean St., Kittanning. The funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday at the funeral home with an additional hour of visitation, prior to the service.
