     James Henry Pratt James H. Pratt, 91, passed peacefully at his residence on the afternoon of July 12, 2015. James or Jim as he was known to family and friends was born in Elkton, South Dakota at the home of his parents, Gertrude Brown Pratt and Vern Wedgewood Pratt. During World War II he served in the Marine V 12 unit, an officer training program. After the war, he graduated from Denison University and began his career as a YMCA director. During his twenty-three years with the YMCA he touched and enriched the lives of hundreds of youth and adults with the programs he directed and initiated. After retiring from the YMCA, Jim became Public Relations and Volunteer Director for La Rue Carter Sate Hospital where he worked for seventeen more years. In addition to his work, Jim received many awards for his community service one of which was the first Person of the Year Award given by the United Way of Central Indiana. He loved music and sang in the choir of Church of the Savior United Methodist for 30 years. He was an avid runner and took the bronze medal for his age group in the 500 Mini-Marathon at the age of 62. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him. Jim was preceded in death by a son, Philip; and is survived by his wife of 67 years, Barbara Pratt; daughter, Pamela Ratz; and son, Jim W. Pratt; granddaughter, Lauren Knoop; grandson, John Ratz; and great-granddaughter, Annabelle Knoop.2 He was buried at Oaklawn Memorial Gardens, 9700 Allisonville Road, Fishers, Hamilton Co., Indiana.3 He was born on May 17, 1924 at Elkton, Brookings Co., South Dakota.1,4 He married Barbara Lee Rigg, daughter of James Albert Rigg and Wyona Lee Smith, on August 22, 1948 at Alderson, Greenbrier Co., West Virginia.1,3 James Henry Pratt died on July 12, 2015 at Indianapolis, Marion Co., Indiana, at age 91.2

     Irene Blevins was buried at Highland Memory Gardens, 42 Highland Memory Gardens Circle, Pecks Mill, Logan Co., West Virginia.2 She was born on November 29, 1927 at Peach Creek, Logan Co., West Virginia.1,2,3 As of December 5, 1946,her married name was Light.1 She married Edward Lyle Light, son of Robert Lee Light and Ida Elizabeth Smith, on December 5, 1946 at Peach Creek, Logan Co., West Virginia.1,2 Irene Blevins died on June 20, 2010 at West Virginia at age 82.3,2 She BLAIR, W.Va. — Irene Light, 82, of Blair, went home to be with the Lord Sunday, June 20, 2010. Born November 29, 1927, she was a daughter of the late Alfred and Oma Blevins of Peach Creek. She was also re-united with her husband, Edward Light; daughter, Elizabeth "Ann" Smith, and grandsons; Brian Scott Light and Jason Keeney. Also preceding her in death was a sister, Loriene Castrilli, and brothers, Buster, Jim and Earl Blevins. Irene was a retired nurse from Logan General Hospital. She was first and always a Christian, a loving wife and a wonderful mother to her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was a member of Ball Chapel Church. These left behind include Linda (David) Rowland of Noblesville, Ind., Larry (Peggy) Light, Kris (Diddy) Podunavac and Randy (Lisa) Light, all of Chapmanville, George (Susie) Light and Richard Light, both of Madison, Judy (Oliver) Smith and Tim (Lorene) Light, both of Clothier, and Sandy (Brian) Cook of Blair; 21 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren of whom she loved very much, and brothers and sisters, Jack (Juanita) Blevins of Peach Creek, Bill (Susie) Blevins of Lima, Ohio, Ed (Gail) Blevins of Tucson, Ariz., Donna (Calvin) Thompson of Smicksburg, Pa., and Pat Blevins of Huntington. Services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, June 23, at the Handley Funeral Home with the Rev. Edsel Aleshire and the Rev. Joe Lane officiating. Burial will follow in Highland Memory Gardens at Godby Heights. Visitation will be from 6-9 p.m. today at the funeral home. on June 22, 2010.2
