She married Earnest Eugene "Bugs" Cole on Dec. 2, 1948 in Vernon, Texas. They celebrated 64 years of marriage. In 1963 Bugs and Katie adopted their only child, Nancy. She accepted Christ at Dean Missionary Baptist Church as a young girl. Bugs and Katie were active members of Sulphur Missionary Baptist Church west of Reed for many years. Later they attended Trinity Baptist Church in Mangum, Okla. until her health declined. She is survived by her husband, Bugs Cole of the home; one daughter, Nancy Lehr and husband, Jay of Lawton; two grand children, Kelsey and Cole of Lawton: one sister, Ruby Crawford of Altus and Steve & Edna Cole; as well as many friends and loved ones.2 She was born on March 17, 1929 at Reed Township, Greer Co., Oklahoma.1 As of December 2, 1948,her married name was Cole.1 She married Earnest Eugene "Bugs" Cole, son of Earnest B. He attended First Presbyterian Church and was a member of Casa Grande Kiwanis Club, National Cotton Council and Old Guard honorary. He lived in Arizona for 42 years and was a longtime Casa Grande resident.
