Tom has thirteen precious grandchildren including Sarah, Josh, Jonathan, Hannah, Darrell Glenn (DG), Christopher, Cathy, Jacob, Samuel, Paige, Bryce, Taylor and Nathan. His great-grandchildren include Hailey, Evan, Mallorie and Jacob. Tom was an active man who loved to dance, golf and walk. Burial will be in Pleasant Hill Cemetery. on April 19, 2011.3

He retired in 1937 as general claim agent. Survivors include the widow, Emma M; and two daughters, Mrs. Mable Lawrence and Elizabeth L. She was a member of Royal Neighbors, the VFW Auxiliary and the Lions Club. She served as treasurer for the city of Island City for many years. She enjoyed her grandchildren, working crossword puzzles and was an avid reader. She enjoyed traveling, especially her trips to see family in West Virginia. Survivors include her children, George Beeman of Portland, Lowell Beeman of Island City, Tom Beeman of Tacoma, Bob Beeman of Island City and Kathy Spears of La Grande; eight grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and other relatives. Memorial contributions may be made to GRH Hospice in care of Daniels-Knopp. on January 18, 2010.2

She was the wife of Logan E. Thompson of La Grande fire department. Mrs. Thompson was born June 1, 1901, in Flat Top, West Va. and lived in La Grande 35 years. She was a member of the Royal Neighbors of America. Survivors beside her husband, are two children, Jack Leroy and Larry Lee; her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Zach Lilly of La Grande; two sisters, Oweida Hacker of Summerville, Alma Turner of Kellogg, Idaho, and three brothers, William C. Lilly of Boardman, Zack Jr., La Grande, and Lt. Kenneth Lilly, U. S. navy. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday in the Snodgrass funeral home. Internment will be in Summerville cemetery. on May 26, 1945.3

Survivors are the widow, Mrs. Doris Lilly; three sons, Eldon Lilly, junior high school teacher in La Grande, Robert Lilly, Echo, and Richard Lilly, Reith; two brothers, Zach and Ken Lilly of Le Grande; two sisters, Mrs. Oweda Hacker, La Grande, and Mrs. Alma Turner, Mead, Wash; and seven grandchildren. Services will be held at 2:30 p.m. at Burns Chapel in Pendleton with burial following in that city. on September 29, 1962.6
