She retired from Elizabeth Arden with over 30 years of service and was currently employed at Levy Home Entertainment. Bettie was predeceased by her husband, Floyd (Pat) Underwood; and is survived by three sons and one daughter-in-law, Eddie and Anna Underwood, of Vinton, Ricky Underwood and Danny Underwood, both of Troutville; one daughter and son-in-law, Kim and Mike Furrow, of Vinton; five grandchildren, Cris Underwood, Ashley Furrow, Cody Underwood, Jerica Underwood and Chase Furrow; one great-granddaughter, Jovie Underwood; three sisters, Nancy Wallen, of Pulaski, Donna Conner and her husband, Johnny, of Roanoke, and Janet Hodges and her husband, Barry, of Ivanhoe; brother-in-law, Richard (Woody) Underwood and his wife, Amonette, of Troutville; sisters-in-law, Helen Crawford and her husband, Dwight, of Troutville, and Barbara Neighbors, of Jacksonville, Fla; a number of nieces and nephews; special friend, Ricky Shifflett; and loyal companions, Nikki and Sassy. A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, March 21, 2008, at Oakey's East Chapel with the Rev. Paris E. Bain officiating. Interment will follow in Old Dominion Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends on Thursday, March 20, 2008, from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. at Oakey's East Chapel, Bonsack, 540-977-3909. on March 19, 2008.²

     Delmar Dwight Crawford was buried at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens, 5737 Airport Road NW, Roanoke, Virginia.⁵ He was born on October 20, 1931 at Troutville, Botetourt Co., Virginia.^2,3 He married Helen Jane Underwood, daughter of Floyd Garfield Underwood and Pauline Malinda Jane Mills, on October 20, 1956 at Botetourt Co., Virginia.^1,2 Delmar Dwight Crawford died on March 6, 2014 at Roanoke Co., Virginia, at age 82.^4,5 He Delmar Dwight Crawford, 82, of Troutville, went Home to be with the Lord on Thursday, March 6, 2014. He was a Veteran of the United States Navy and worked as a Diesel Mechanic throughout the Roanoke Valley. He was preceded in death by two sons, Gregory L. Crawford and infant son, David Wayne Crawford and is survived by his wife of 57 years, Helen Crawford; two sons, Jeffrey Crawford, Curtis Neal Crawford; granddaughter, Jamie Dudley; grandson, Jason Dowling; and his loving pets, Charlie and Maggie. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, March 10, 2014 at Oakey's East Chapel with the Rev. Rick Via and Rev. Ken Butterworth officiating. Interment will follow in the Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends on Sunday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home. on March 9, 2014.⁵

Neighbors Sr., 70, died Aug. 23, 2007. He was born May 4, 1937, in Roanoke, Va., to Curtis and Anita Neighbors and moved to Jacksonville in 1966. He served in the Air Force for seven years. He was an active member of Calvary Anglican Church, where he served as a junior and senior warden. His close friends knew him as Chuck and Big Chuck. He loved to fish, watch football and was a Gators fan, and spend time with his children and grandchildren. He set an example for all to follow. He will be loved and remembered by all those he touched and came in contact with, the family said. He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Barbara; son, Charles Neighbors Jr. and his wife, Bobbie, of Orange Park; daughter, Sabrina Maturgo and her husband, Ron, of Jacksonville; sister, Jackie Thomas and her husband, Leon, of Altamonte Springs, Fla; aunt, Atlas Lewis of Hagerstown, Md; and grandchildren, Tomi, Adam, Caleb and Jacob. A memorial service was held Wednesday, Aug. 29, at Calvary Anglican Church, 3044 S. San Pablo Road, Jacksonville. There was a reception following. Memorial contributions may be made to Calvary Anglican Church. Arrangements entrusted to Beaches Chapel by Hardage-Giddens, Jacksonville Beach. on August 30, 2007.⁵
