Arlene was born on April 9, 1929, in Roanoke, Va. Arlene worked at Delaware Community College as an Administrative Assistant for 25 years. Mrs. Pugh was a resident of Plush Mills, where she loved socializing with her neighbors and encouraged fellow residents to actively participate in social events. She was a longtime active member of Lima United Methodist Church, where she sang in the choir. Arlene was a passionate gardener and enjoyed participating with the County Gardeners of Lima Garden Club. She enjoyed quilting, needle point and found great satisfaction knitting and donating "walker bags" for seniors with walkers, as well as knitting hats and scarves for the needy. She enjoyed the piano and listening to music. Arlene will be dearly missed by many. Daughter of the late Jefferson D. and Dulcie D. Reed; wife of 64 years to the late Edward M. Pugh. Survivors, daughter, Deborah P. (Edward T.) Keinath; son, Gary M. (Wendy) Pugh; grandchildren, Amy (Nick) Lewandowski, Rachel Pugh, Kevin (Colleen) Keinath; six great-grandchildren. Graveside service will be held on Thursday, July 23, 2020, at 11:30 a.m. at Edgewood Memorial Park, 325 Baltimore Pike, Glen Mills, PA. on July 23, 2020.7

Stella Lois Ward was buried at Wright Cemetery (also known as Whitlock-Blackwell Cemetery), on the gravel access road, located between houses 2121 and 2115 Cannaday School Road, Pizarro, Floyd Co., Virginia.2 She Stella Lois Whitlock was born in Jacksonville, Florida, on Feb. 8, 1935 and went to join her husband, Elinos Alton Whitlock, Jr. on Aug. 13, 2021; the daughter of the late Byron Moody Ward and Lois Rodgers Ward, and sister of Clotilda Elizabeth Malloy. She attended St. Petersburg High School, St Pete, FL; King College, Bristol, TN; Presbyterian School of Christian Education, Richmond VA; UNC Charlotte, Charlotte, NC. She taught at many NC institutions of learning for various levels including: William H. Owen School, Fayetteville; Aycock Middle School, Greensboro; Mendenhall Jr High, Greensboro; Coulwood Middle School, Charlotte; J.M. Alexander Middle School, Huntersville; East Lee Middle School, Sanford; UNC Charlotte; Methodist College, Fayetteville. She is survived by her son, Elinos Alton Whitlock III (Jen); daughter, Martha Lois Whitlock Reed (Stan); daughter, Elizabeth Lois Whitlock Badgett (Edwin); son, David Ward Whitlock (Evelyn); seven Grandchildren, Logan Thomas Whitlock, Daniel Jackson Whitlock, Andrew Kent Whitlock, Elizabeth Teressa Reed, Benton Louis Reed, Robert Whitlock Badgett, Michelle Sarah Whitlock; and step-grandchildren, Patricia Kelly Phifer, Christian Thomas McArthur, Daniel Patrick McArthur, George Edwin Badgett, III. One great-grandchild Jace Kelvin Alejos Whitlock and step-great grandchildren. Stella had an adventurous soul, enjoying different cultures and cuisines in her travels around the world. Her intelligence and wit were evident in her writings, many of which were published. Her fun, competitive streak could be seen as she played many games with friends and family. She especially cherished her family, and looked forward to visits and the yearly Ocean Isle Beach trip.3 She was born on February 8, 1935 at Jacksonville, Duval Co., Florida.2,3 As of June 6, 1958,her married name was Whitlock.2 She married Rev.
