She was married to the late "G.D.' Knox. Mrs. Knox was a retired Dietician in the NC Public School System. She was also a member of the Benson Baptist Church. Surviving include sons and daughters-in-law, Thomas Wood and Karen Knox, and George Stephen and Louise Knox all of Benson; sister, Annie Ruth W. Turlington of Benson; brother, P.B. Violet retired from Oscar Mayer as a line operator, and after retirement worked at Isabel Bloom. Violet and her husband lived in Milan, but was very proud when they purchased their dream home in Kirkwood, IL. They loved traveling together. Violet enjoyed collecting porcelain dolls and Isabel blooms. Her biggest joy was spending time with her siblings and their families. Violet is survived by her siblings, Charles (Carol) Crocker, Pauline Peterson, and Rosalie Davis; and several nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.
