Eagle and Floria Viola Frances Hines, in 1953 at Galesburg, Knox Co., Illinois.1,3 Joann Elizabeth Pryde died on September 19, 2012 at La Vergne, Rutherford Co., Tennessee, at age 81.2,1 She SMYRNA, Tenn. - Joann Elizabeth (Pryde) Eagle, 81, Smyrna, died Wednesday, Sept. 19, 2012, at the home of her daughter in LaVergne, Tenn. Joann was born Feb. 7, 1931, in Galesburg, Ill., to Clifford and Rosamond (Salisbury) Pryde. She married James Eagle in 1953, in Galesburg, Ill. She is survived by her children. Jayne (Eagle) Fowler of Panama City, Fla., Diane Eagle of LaVergne, Tenn., and Daniel Eagle of Oneida, Ill., as well as three grandchildren, Brianna Fowler of Panama City, Fla., Danielle (Eagle) Jones of Jacksonville, N.C., and Ryan Eagle of Lansing, Mich. Others left to cherish her memory include Jim and Marj Bell and family of Galesburg, Ill., Ward and Jean Huevelman and family of Littleton, Colo., Bill Kann and family of Leesburg, Ind., and Steve and Trish Pryde and family of Loveland, Colo. There will be no visitation. Cremation rites have been accorded. A graveside service will be held at a later date in Galesburg. on September 20, 2012.1

Eagle, 79, of Galesburg, died at 1:08 p.m. Saturday, September 21, 2019, at Knox County Nursing Home, Knoxville. Janet was born June 13, 1940, in Galesburg, the daughter of Forrest Eugene and Beatrice Marie (Shea) Davison. She married James C. Eagle on January 3, 1977, in Port Isabel, TX. He preceded her in death on December 22, 1995. Janet is survived by one daughter, Jennifer M. (Kelly) Allison of Galesburg; one son, Robert R. (Angela) Selkirk of Galesburg; one step-daughter, Jayne Fowler of Panama City, FL; and three grandchildren, Riley and Noah Selkirk, and Brianna Fowler. Along with her parents and husband, Janet was preceded in death by her step-father, Philip Samuelson; and one brother, Robert E. Davison. Janet graduated from Corpus Christi High School in 1958 and attended Carl Sandburg College. She was an HR Manager at Maytag for 38.5 years, retiring in 1996. She later worked at Target in Galesburg for 9 years, until illness in 2014. Janet was a member of Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church and the Ladies of Mary; as well as the OSF St. Mary Medical Center Auxiliary, and National Order of Forresters. She was also a member of the Maytag Management Club. She was very proud to have been a member of Alcoholics Anonymous with 31 years sobriety. Janet was a compassionate, but straight forward woman, before her time. She had a great sense of humor and lived life to the fullest. She loved her family, animals, dancing, running and traveling. Janet was an avid runner, belonged to the Galesburg Running Club, Cornbelt Running Club, and ran the Bix 7 twenty-three times. She won numerous awards and trophy are in local and regional 5ks. Her last Bix run was 2 miles, 2 years after having one lung removed. The rosary will be prayed at 12:30 p.m. Thursday, September 26, 2019, at Watson Thomas Funeral Home and Crematory, Galesburg with visitation following from 1 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. Memorial Mass will follow at 3 p.m. at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church. Rev. William T. Miller will officiate. Burial will follow at Knoxville Cemetery, Knoxville. on September 25, 2019.1

Hensley died at 5 a.m. today at his home 1001 Walnut street. He had been ill for three and one half years. He was a retired electrician and was born on March 26, 1906, in Virginia. His parents were Phillip and Pearlie Scott Hensley. On August 13, 1927, he married Ruby Hines. She survives with a son, Wendell of Oolitic, four daughters, Mrs. Eugene Jones of Oolitic, Mrs. Claud Byers of Bedford, Mrs. Stephen Murray of Indianapolis and Mrs. Richard Brown of Bedford. Also surviving are five grandchildren, two brothers, Estell Hensley of Ottawa, Tenn., and Otis Hensley of Cincinnati, O., and five sisters, Mrs. Burgess Fee of Pennington Gap, Va., Mrs. Carl Smithers of Harlan, Ky., Mrs. Orville Pate of Harlan, Ky., Mrs. Noah Watson of Toledo, O., and Mrs. Bert Keith of Danville, Ky. One son, Roger, preceded him in death on Feb. 6, 1958. Services will be conducted at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, July 5, at the Elmwood Chapel of the Day & Carter Mortuary. Rev. R. Ping will officiate and burial will be in Green Hill Cemetery. on July 2, 1960.4 He died on July 2, 1960 at Oolitie, Lawrence Co., Indiana, at age 54.1,4

Hensley of Oolitic, passed away this morning at Trinity Lutheran Hospital in Kansas City, Mo., following a short illness. According to hospital authorities, death was attributed to a stroke. It was dislosed that Hensley became ill Tuesday morning while attending classes at a Electronic School in Kansas City. He was taken to the Trinity Lutheran Hospital where he became unconscious and doctors said he had suffered a bursted blood vessel and that his left side was paralized. He never regained consciousness. Young Hensley, a graduate of Oolitic High School with the class of 1953, his wife, the former Diane Girdley, and their son, Mark, were residing at Mobile Village Trailer Court, 7000 East Highway No. 40, Kansas City, at the Hensley's death. He was born 23 years ago to Nova T. and Ruby Hensley, and following graduation from high school, served in the U. S. Army for two years. He was formerly employed at the Bailey Service Company in Bedford. Survivors, in addition to the parents, the wife, and son include one brother, Wendell, of Oolitic; four sisters, Mrs. Eugene Jones and Miss Janice Hensley, both of Oolitic, Mrs. Claude Byers of Bedford, Mrs. Stephen Murray of Indianapolis; and the maternal grandparents, who reside in Virginia. The body is being returned to the Day and Carter Mortuary in Bedford and funeral arrangements will announced later by the Day and Carter Mortuary. on February 6, 1958.4

Bobby attended Pennington High School before graduating from Pineville (KY) High School. He received a Bachelor's Degree from Milligan College, and a Master's Degree from the University of Tennessee in Knoxville. He was a lifelong educator and coach serving mainly in Lee County Public Schools at Jonesville Elementary School, Flatwoods High School and Lee High School. He was a lifelong fan of the University of Tennessee Volunteers and instilled that virtue in his children at their earliest ages. He was a Sunday School teacher, worship leader, choir member and elder at First Christian Church of Pennington Gap, VA. Services will be Monday June 26th at the First Christian Church of Pennington Gap, VA. The family will receive friends from 12:00 to 2:00. Burial will be at Cecil-Fry Cemetery in Pennington Gap. Bob Richards will conduct the service. on June 23, 2017.1 He died on June 23, 2017 at age 77.1
