Terry of Columbia, S.C., and Donald Lee Terry of Yorktown; 11 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends Sunday from 3 to 5 p.m. at Peninsula Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at the funeral home by Rev. Stephen J. Crane. Burial will follow in Parklawn Memorial Park. on January 2, 1999.8

Eric Bolster, of Charleston, S.C; and by six great-grandchildren, Daniel and Stuart Avant, Johnson and Bates Hagood, and Davis and Stephanie Bolster. Also surviving is her brother, Phillip A. Hutson, of St. Petersburg, Fla. She was a native of Virginia, being born in Ringold, Va., but she attended public schools and lived most of her life in the Roanoke area. She lived in Hopewell and Smith Mountain Lake communities but returned to Roanoke in 1996. Mrs. Blankenship retired from Civil Service in 1971, after approximately 25 years with the Veterans Administration, Internal Revenue Service, and the United States Army. She also served in the Naval Reserve during the mid 1950s. After her retirement she worked as a librarian assistant while residing in Hopewell. Mrs. Blankenship was a member of the Eastern Star Lodge # 33 in Roanoke, and served as Grand Matron in 1964 to 1965. She was also a member of the Riverdale Baptist Church for many years. Services will be held Tuesday, May 11, 2010, at 2 p.m. (viewing at 1 p.m.) at Oakey's Funeral Home in Vinton, Va., with Graveside services at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens following the funeral home service. Services will be conducted by Pastor David Jones of the Riverdale Baptist Church. If desired, either a gift or flowers or donations to Alzheimer's Research Organizations would be appropriate. Arrangements by Oakey's Vinton Chapel, 982-2221. on May 10, 2010.4

Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Monday, November 2, 1998 at Oakey's Vinton Chapel, with the Rev. Robert Lanier officiating. The interment will follow in Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens, where the Masonic Rites will be held by Virginia Heights Masonic Lodge #324. The family will receive friends 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.. Sunday at Oakey's Vinton Chapel. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Shriners Childrens Hospital or the Gentle Shepherd Hospice Association. on November 1, 1998.3

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of more than 50 years, Denver Donald Smith, in 2001; a daughter, Janice T. Eanes, in 2004; and three brothers, Wilbert, Marvin and Dewey Blueford Thompson. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Bassett. She had worked in school cafeterias at Campbell Court Elementary School and Fieldale-Collinsville High School before working at Bassett Superior Lines, from which she retired. Jones, Radford University; and a great-grandson, Tyler Brooks; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Edith and Frank Harris of Fieldale, Marvie and Dennis Walker, Patrick Springs; two nephews and a niece. He was a member of Smith Memorial United Methodist Church and the Charles Wesley Sunday School Class. He was a past trustee and a past Cub Master for the Collinsville Cub Scouts. He retired from Pulaski Furniture Company and had worked at American Furniture Company. He operated Bassett Esso Service Station for many years. Visitation will be held at Norris Funeral Services Friday evening, November 26 from 7 to 8:30 p.m. The funeral will be held at Smith Memorial United Methodist Church on Saturday, November 27 at 11 a.m. with Rev. Rob Caldwell officiating. Burial will be at Roselawn Burial Park. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Smith Memorial United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 1081, Collinsville, VA 24078 or to the American Heart Association, 450 Starkey Road, Roanoke, VA 24014. Norris Funeral Services is in charge of arrangements. on November 25, 1999.3

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Dennis Walker; and a brother, Dempsey Jones. She retired from Fieldcrest Mills in 1986 and was a member of Pleasant View Baptist Church. She had been a member of the Patrick-Henry Volunteer Fire Department Ladies' Auxiliary for 33 years. Surviving are a son, Dennis D. Walker of Patrick Springs; a sister, Edith Harris of Fieldale; and a granddaughter. The funeral will be held at 1 p.m. Monday at Pleasant View Baptist Church with Pastor Rick Anderson officiating. Burial will at County Line Church of God cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 until 8:30 p.m. today at the church. Memorials may be made to Patrick-Henry Volunteer Fire Department Ladies' Auxiliary, 3125 County Line Road, Patrick Springs, Va. 24133. on November 18, 2006.7
