     Claude Marshall Phillips was born on December 3, 1913 at Virginia.¹ He married Vera Estelle Poage, daughter of Charles Luther "Charley" Poage and Nettie R. Wilson, on October 14, 1969 at Richmond, Virginia.¹

     Ralph Edward Houghton Ralph Edward Houghton, 90 passed away at 12:40 PM, September 24, 2013 in Kosciusko Community Hospital in Warsaw, Indiana. He was born November 8, 1922 in South Bend, Indiana the son of Frank and Alma (Poff) Houghton, who are deceased. He was united in marriage to Zulema Delilah Carroll, who survives. They celebrated 71 years of marriage this year. Ralph faithfully served his country during World War II (Jan. 1943 – Nov. 1945) in the United States Army as a Sergeant in the Northern France Central Europe campaigns under the command of Dwight D. Eisenhower. He was wounded in Brest, France August 27, 1944. He was awarded two Purple Hearts, two Bronze Stars for meritorious achievement in ground combat against the armed enemy during WWII in Northern France. He received the WWII Victory Medal, the Good Conduct Medal and the Combat Infantry Badge. He is also an Honoree Charter Member of the World War II Museum in New Orleans, LA. Ralph was a very happy, loving, and caring husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and friend. He loved to laugh and to tell jokes, and he was a great traveler with his life-long wife, companion, and friend, Zulema. He was part owner and dedicated worker at the Pyramid Oil Company in Etna Green, Indiana for many years. He was a member of the United Methodist Church of Etna Green and an Etna Green Volunteer Fireman for numerous years. He also belonged to the Masonic Lodge, Ancient Scottish Rites and the American Legion. Surviving is his wife, Zulema, two daughters: Dianna Holderman (Dean) of Bremen, Indiana, Connie Armey (Roger) of Warsaw, Indiana and a son Rick Houghton (Delia) of Paw Paw, Michigan, a sister, Shirley Houghton of LA Habra, CA. Also surviving are children of Dianna and Dean; Lori, Tammy, Christopher, Cheri and Tara; children of Connie and Roger: Michelle, Melissa, Scott, Kristy, Kimberly and Kayla; and children of Rick and Delia; Steven, Amy, Rebecca and Mark. Also surviving are spouses of the grandchildren and several great-grandchildren, and his special kittens; Chloe and Molly. Ralph was preceded in death by his sister, Alice (Houghton) Singleton (Vance). At Ralph's request, there will be no viewing or services as cremation has taken place. Deaton Clemens Funeral Home is caring for the arrangements. He was buried at Etna Green Cemetery, Etna Green, Kosciusko Co., Indiana.⁵ He was born on November 8, 1922 at South Bend, St. Joseph Co., Indiana.^1,3 He married Zulema Delilah Carroll circa 1942.¹ Ralph Edward Houghton died on September 24, 2013 at Warsaw, Kosciusko Co., Indiana, at age 90.¹

     Her married name was Singleton.¹ Alice Marie Houghton married Vance Singleton.¹ Alice Marie Houghton was born on July 8, 1921 at South Bend, St. Joseph Co., Indiana.^4,5 She died on March 20, 2011 at Orange Co., California, at age 89.⁵

     Verna Cleghorn was born on December 15, 1928 at Kansas.¹ As of March 15, 1973,her married name was Poff.² She married Archie Arville/Orville/Arval/Orvil Poff, son of James Michael "Jim" Poff and Maude Worley, on March 15, 1973 at McLennan Co., Texas.² Verna Cleghorn and Archie Arville/Orville/Arval/Orvil Poff were divorced on December 6, 1976 at Liberty Co., Texas.¹ Verna Cleghorn died on May 13, 2015 at Conroe, Montgomery Co., Texas, at age 86.
