Patricia Lee Goodnight Patricia Lee Goodnight Batastini, 66, of Columbus, GA passed away Sunday, April 24, 2011 at St. Francis Hospital. Funeral mass will be 10 AM Thursday, April 28, 2011 at Holy Family Catholic Church with Father Frank Patterson officiating. Burial will follow in Fort Mitchell National Cemetery. A Rosary will be said 6 PM Wednesday, April, 27, 2011 and visitation will follow at Striffler - Hamby Mortuary, Macon Road Chapel, 4071 Macon Road. Mrs. Batastini was born September 9, 1944 in Kokomo, IN, the daughter of Sharlot (Tom) Crowder and Harold (Dorothy) Goodnight. She was preceded in death by her father, Harold E. Goodnight, her step-father,Thomas Crowder, and grandchildren, Alexis Batastini, and Audrey, Ian, and Eli Faircloth. Mrs. Batastini graduated from Kokomo High School, class of 1962. She met M. Lee Batastini of Columbus, GA at Bunker Hill Air Force Base in Peru, IN on January 19, 1963. Her altruism began by fostering more than eighty children over the years. Additionally, she was also an avid animal lover and devoted much of her spare time to volunteering and fostering for the Claws and Paws Animal Rescue. Her selflessness continued as a member of administrative staff at Matthews Elementary School, Daniel Middle School and Double Churches Middle School. Her passonate, creative nature led to hobbies of arts and crafts, scrapbooking, and cross-stitching. She was never without a camera. Survivors include, her loving and devoted husband of 48 years, M. Lee Batastini; her mother, Sharlot Crowder of Kokomo, IN; three sons, Christopher (Kimberly) Batastini of Tyndall Air Force Base, Kevin Batastini of Columbus and Jeffrey Batastini of Memphis, TN; three daughters, Denise (John) Faircloth of Salem, AL, Paige (Matt) Hurst and Rebecca (Alan) Duncan both of Columbus; eleven grandchildren, Morgan Batastini, Christopher Mills, Jonathan Mills, Zachary Batastini, Trent Faircloth, Adrienne Hurst, Jeremy Hunt, Aaron Hunt, Zee Faircloth, Brylee Duncan and Jeffrey Batastini, Jr; a sister, Debbie Malooley of Indianapolis, IN; many nieces and nephews. A heartfelt thanks to Sonya Hardin, Victoria Bullock, Kimberly Pickett, and the Intensive Care Unit of St. Francis Hospital. In lieu of flowers, the family request that donations be made to Claws and Paws Animal Rescue, 1008 Ronnie Road, Buena Vista.1 She was buried at Fort Mitchell National Cemetery, 553 AL-165, Fort Mitchell, Russell Co., Alabama.1 She was born on September 9, 1944 at Kokomo, Howard Co., Indiana.1 As of January 19, 1963,her married name was Batastini.1 She married M. She was born Aug. 19, 1918, in Hamilton County, to William and Alice (Mills) Inman. She married Robert A. Goodnight on May 24, 1941. He died Jan. 22, 1990. She was retired from Central Bank of Russiaville where she was a bookkeeper for 16 years. She was also a homemaker. She graduated from Sheridan High School in 1936. She was a member of Russiaville United Methodist Church. She was also a member of the Russiaville Order of Eastern Star and the American Legions Women's Auxiliary. She was an avid bowler and a Pacer Fan. She also enjoyed reading, working crossword puzzles and having family time. Survivors include two daughters, Nancy E. Hobson, Russiaville, and Donna L. Chambers and husband Mac, Russiaville; three sisters-in-law, Marianna Taylor, West Middleton, Betty Jo Hardie, Kokomo, and Barbara Inman, Cicero; six grandchildren, Shelley R. Johnson, Karen L. Mills, Bradley S. Hobson, Dennis W. Hobson, Gail L. Smith and Derek Chambers; 15 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; four brothers, Warren Inman, Hershel Inman, Robert Inman and Bruce Inman; and one sister, Edna Kinder. Funeral services are 11 a.m. Thursday at Stout & Son Funeral Home, Russiaville Chapel, 200 E. Main St., Russiaville, with Steve Fritchman officiating. Burial will follow in Russiaville Cemetery. Friends may call 3 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to Huntington's Disease Society of America or Russiaville United Methodist Church. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home. on November 10, 2008.2
