Dorothy Louise Meader Dorothy M. Williams, 90, of Roanoke, formerly of Copper Hill, Va., went to be with the Lord on Thursday, December 6, 2018. Dorothy was a dedicated nurse for 20 years at Roanoke Memorial Hospital. She was preceded in death by her parents and husband, Basil L. Williams. Surviving are her children, Sandi and husband, Lynn Shumake, Paul and wife, Carolyn Williams, Terry and wife, Judy Williams, Janean Williams; ten grandchildren and twenty great-grandchildren. Interment will follow in Copper Hill Cemetery.4 She was buried at Copper Hill Church of the Brethren Cemetery, 8838 Floyd Hwy N. He is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Dorothy M. Williams; his children, Sandra W. Shumake and husband, Lynn, Baltimore, Md., Paul L. Williams and wife, Susan, of North Carolina, Terry L. Williams and wife, Judy, Roanoke, Janean Williams, Copper Hill; grandchildren, Greg Shumake and wife, Candi, Holly Petrilli and husband, Joe, Heather Casey and husband, Tim, Isaac Williams and wife, Kate, Nathan Williams, Karrie Beth Neary and husband, Mike, Aaron Williams and wife, Jessica, Jonathan Shumake and wife, Kathleen, Dylan Rosales, Gabriel Williams; eight great-grandchildren; brothers and sisters, Reynold Williams, Dorothy Argabright, Claudine Wimmer, Freeda Wimmer, Yvonne Smith, Wilson Williams; a dear brother-in-law, Carl Wimmer. Interment will follow in Copper Hill Cemetery. Military Honors by Floyd VFW Post 7854 and American Legion #127. on December 26, 2007.2

Susan Diane Shelor Mrs. Susan Diane Shelor Williams, 60, of 5030 Semora Road, died Monday, Feb. 9, 2009, at the Extended Care Unit at Person Memorial Hospital. Born Feb. 20, 1948, in Roanoke, Va., she was the daughter of the late Robert Neal Shelor Sr. and Mary Louise Slusher Shelor. A teacher for more than 18 years, she taught chemistry, physical science, algebra and mathematics in Person and Lee counties and in Virginia and Indiana. She was a 1966 graduate of Floyd County High School in Floyd, Va. She received a Bachelor of Science degree in mathematics and chemistry education from Radford University in Radford, Va., and a Master of Education degree in science education from Campbell University in Buies Creek. A member of Roxboro Presbyterian Church, she served on the Session and was a member of the Women's Circle. Mrs. Williams was a lifelong gardener and a member of the Garden Study Club. She was a past member of the Roxboro Women's Club and a past board member of the Christian Help Center. She enjoyed cooking, visiting the beach and spending time with her family and friends. Survivors include her husband of 39 years, Paul Lambert Williams; a daughter and son-in-law, Holly and Joseph Petrilli Jr. of Kings Mountain; a son, Nathan Williams of Roxboro; a sister and brother-in-law, Ellen and Wolfgang Arndt of Marshall; a brother and sister-in-law, Robert Shelor Jr. and Beth Shelor of Floyd, Va; three aunts, Neva Simmons of Willis, Va., Judy McDaniel of Richmond, Va., and Ruth Ann Slusher, who was like a mother to her, of Floyd, Va; mother-in-law, Dorothy Williams of Copper Hill, Va; three grandchildren, Sheila Williams of Roxboro and Mark and James Petrilli of Kings Mountain; and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews. Noah Hill was buried at Chandler Cemetery, Greentown, Howard Co., Indiana.7,8 He was born in 1849 at Rush Co., Indiana.1,10,7 He married Theresia Ellen Colvin on December 8, 1872 at Tipton Co., Indiana.5,7 Noah Hill died on July 20, 1922 at Liberty Township, Tipton Co., Indiana.6,8 He Noah Hill, aged 72, and for many years a resident of the Rock Prairie community, died at his home yesterday, his death following a protracted illness, his death being a result of an attack of pneumonia several months ago, heart complications following the attack. The burial will take place Sunday, the services being at the late home at 2 o'clock. The wife of Mr. Hill died about twenty years ago, and he is survived by two sons and two daughters, they being Elmer Hill, of Elwood, Hilda McGuire, Kokomo, David Hill, Elwood and Laura Lockridge of this county. Mr. Hill was a man who stood well in the community in which he had resided for so many years, being admired for his many fine traits of character. He was industrious, and was active in the Baptist church, of which he was a member. on July 21, 1922.6

A brother, Jacob Stevens, resides at Greentown and four half brothers, Andrew Stevens, of Phlox; Estel Stevens, of Marion; Dan Stevens, of Greentown; and Oren Stevens, of Center, and five half-sisters, Mrs. Mary Land and Mrs. Rhoda Bragg, of Phlox; Mrs. Cora Chism, near Huntington; Mrs. Mamie Taylor of Kokomo and Mrs. Debbie Smith, of Jerome. on September 17, 1926.6

Garner died on March 2, 1956 at Noblesville, Hamilton Co., Indiana, at age 84.2 She Mrs. Mary J. Jarrett, 84, 837 Hazlett St., died Friday at 11 p.m. at the Hamilton Nursing Home in Noblesville after an illness of two years. She was born Jan 1, 1872, at Sharpsville, and was the widow of Louis H. Jarrett, who died in 1955. Mr. Jarrett had lived in Anderson for 50 years, moving here from Sharpsville, and was a member of the Wesleyan Methodist Church. Survivors are two sons, Jerome Jarrett, Middletown, Ohio; Robert Jarrett, Middletown, Ind; three daughters, Mrs. John Simmonds, Anderson; Mrs. Don Cooper, Anderson, and Mrs. Earl Huntzinger, Maples, Fla; 20 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. The body was taken to the Waltz and Hiday Funeral Home where friend will be rececived after 2 p.m. today, and where service will be conducted Monday at 10:30 a.m. by the Rev. Oscar Ahlbrant. Burial will be in the Grove Lawn Cemetery. on March 4, 1956.2
